Large palynological collections have been built over decades and contain vital information. However, they are often difficult to access and use effectively. Here it is revealed how ultrasonic dispersion chemically and structurally alters Pt/C catalysts depending on carbon black type. While high surface area carbons remain stable, low and medium surface area carbons undergo oxidation, increasing charge‐transfer resistance and degrading fuel cell performance.
