Curved Nanographene–Graphite Hybrid Anodes with Sequential Li+ Insertion for Fast‐Charging and Long‐Life Li‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A hybrid anode composed of Cl‐functionalized curved nanographene and graphite enables ultra‐fast charging and long cycle life through an engineered morphology and sequential Li+ insertion. It delivers 100 mAh g−1 at 5 C with 70% capacity retention after 1000 cycles and maintains stable performance over 2000 cycles in pouch cells, providing a practical ...

The formation of the Galactic bulge of the Milky Way

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2012
We aim to determine if the bulge formed via mergers as predicted by Cold Dark Matter (CDM) theory, or from disk instabilities, as suggested by its boxy shape, or both processes. We are observing about 28,000 bulge stars in fields that span longitudes of −

Re-examination of genetic types and origins of natural gases from Dibei bulge, eastern Luliang uplift, Junggar Basin, China

open access: yesJournal of Natural Gas Geoscience, 2019
The eastern part of Luliang uplift has currently become the main target for gas exploration in the Junggar Basin. By now, several giant–medium gas fields (reservoirs) are discovered in the Dinan bulge. Located north to the Dinan bulge, the Dibei bulge is

Heavy elements Ba, La, Ce, Nd, and Eu in 56 Galactic bulge red giants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Aims. The aim of this work is the study of abundances of the heavy elements Ba, La, Ce, Nd, and Eu in 56 bulge giants (red giant branch and red clump) with metallicities ranging from -1.3 dex to 0.5 dex. Methods.

A Scalable, Durable, Fire‐Safe All‐Day Passive Radiative Cooling Coating for Sustainable Buildings

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports a scalable, durable coating that combines a fire‑retardant copolymer adhesive, hollow glass microspheres, and boron oxide to achieve passive radiative cooling with over 94% solar reflectance and >95% mid‑infrared emissivity. The coating maintains performance after UV and rain exposure and exhibits UL‑94 V‑0 fire resistance, enabling ...

The First Detection of Blue Straggler Stars in the Milky Way Bulge

open access: yes, 2011
We report the first detections of Blue Straggler Stars (BSS) in the bulge of the Milky Way galaxy. Proper motions from extensive space-based observations along a single sight-line allow us to separate a sufficiently clean and well-characterized bulge ...

Atomically Revealing Bulk Point Defect Dynamics in Hydrogen‐Driven γ‐Fe2O3 → Fe3O4 → FeO Transformation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In situ TEM uncovers the atomic‐scale mechanisms underlying hydrogen‐driven γ‐Fe2O3→Fe3O4→FeO reduction. In γ‐Fe2O3, oxygen vacancies cluster around intrinsic Fe vacancies, leading to nanopore formation, whereas in Fe3O4, vacancy aggregation is suppressed, preserving a dense structure.

Bulge Cells of Rat Hair Follicles: Isolation, Cultivation, Morphological and Biological Features [PDF]

open access: yesCell Journal, 2010
Objective: Transplants of multipotent stem cells have been shown to have a neuroprotectiveeffect after central nervous system injury. The bulge region of the hair follicle hasbeen reported as a putative source of hair follicle stem cells (HFSC) for many ...

Very Metal-poor Stars in the Outer Galactic Bulge Found by the Apogee Survey [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Despite its importance for understanding the nature of early stellar generations and for constraining Galactic bulge formation models, at present little is known about the metal-poor stellar content of the central Milky Way.
