Macroscopic Quantum Test with Bulk Acoustic Wave Resonators [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2023
Recently, solid-state mechanical resonators have become a platform for demonstrating non-classical behavior of systems involving a truly macroscopic number of particles. Here, we perform the most macroscopic quantum test in a mechanical resonator to date, which probes the validity of quantum mechanics at the microgram mass scale.

Thermal Modulation of Gigahertz Surface Acoustic Waves on Lithium Niobate [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Applied, 2022
Surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices have wide range of applications in microwave signal processing. Microwave SAW components benefit from higher quality factors and much smaller crosstalk when compared to their electromagnetic counterparts.

Generation and Propagation of Superhigh-Frequency Bulk Acoustic Waves in GaAs [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Applied, 2019
Coherent super-high-frequency (SHF) vibrations provide an excellent tool for the modulation and control of excitations in semiconductors. Here, we investigate the piezoelectric generation and propagation of longitudinal bulk acoustic waves (LBAWs) with ...

Biological Effects and Applications of Bulk and Surface Acoustic Waves on In Vitro Cultured Mammal Cells: New Insights

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2022
Medical imaging has relied on ultrasound (US) as an exploratory method for decades. Nonetheless, in cell biology, the numerous US applications are mainly in the research and development phase. In this review, we report the main effects on human or mammal

Naturally enhanced ion-acoustic lines at high altitudes [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2006
Naturally enhanced ion-acoustic lines (NEIALs) between 1200 and 1900 km altitude are investigated. The NEIALs were found in the background gates of data from the European Incoherent Scatter (EISCAT) Svalbard radar (ESR) at 78° N looking field ...

Investigation of bulk acoustic microwaves excited by an interdigital transducer

open access: yesTekhnologiya i Konstruirovanie v Elektronnoi Apparature, 2015
Excitation of bulk and surface acoustic waves with the interdigital transducer (IDT), which is deposited on the surface of a piezoelectric crystal, is widely used in the development of devices in acoustoelectronics and in the design of the microwave ...
