Accurate and noninvasive prostate cancer detection using plasma‐derived extracellular vesicle RNA
Plasma extracellular vesicles were captured with WGA‐conjugated magnetic beads and profiled for RNA biomarkers. A three‐RNA panel (NM_024955, NR_047469, and NR_002564) distinguished prostate cancer from healthy controls and benign prostatic hyperplasia, supporting a simple, noninvasive approach to improve prostate cancer detection.

Ultraviolet absorption of point defects in high purity bulk AlN
Four point defects are analyzed in high purity bulk AlN crystals using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. No EPR could be detected in the dark at temperatures as low at 4 K. The neutral donor and a newly detected center, M1, are observed

There and back again: bulk-to-defect via Ward identities
A bstract In conformal field theory, the presence of a defect may break the global symmetry, giving rise to defect operators such as the tilts. In this work, we derive integral identities that relate correlation functions involving bulk and defect ...

The presence of biotin‐binding avidin proteins in fish and their biological significance are poorly characterized. We cataloged fish avidins and demonstrate that they are widely present and evolutionarily conserved. We created avd knockout zebrafish and show that zebavidin is dispensable for development and that resistance of avd knockout embryos in ...

In this study, a novel esterase from the thermoacidophilic archaeon Thermoplasma acidophilum was biochemically and structurally characterized. Our results demonstrate that Ta0887 is a highly thermostable esterase that preferentially hydrolyzes p‐nitrophenyl hexanoate and possesses an α‐helical cap domain that likely contributes to its substrate ...

Superconformal monodromy defects in N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ =4 SYM and LS theory
We study type IIB supergravity solutions that are dual to two-dimensional superconformal defects in d = 4 SCFTs which preserve N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = (0, 2) supersymmetry.

The C‐terminal domain of yeast Arginyltransferase1 is essential for its catalytic activity
Arginyltransferase 1 (Ate1), a eukaryotic enzyme, catalyses arginylation, transferring arginine from tRNA‐Arg to the amino terminus of the target protein. Overexpression of Ate1 in yeast is lethal and is dependent on arginylation. This study elucidates how mutations in the cofactor‐binding and active site of Ate1 and truncation of its structural ...

Effective passivation of bulk and interface defects is one of the key drivers for achieving highly efficient and stable p-i-n perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Despite the versatility of bulky ammonium cations in defect passivation, ionic migration of these

The defect b-theorem under bulk RG flows
A bstract It is known that for RG flows confined to a two-dimensional defect, where the bulk maintains its conformal nature, the coefficient of the Euler density in the defect’s Weyl anomaly (termed b ) cannot ...
