Den norske cisteren

open access: yesMusikk og Tradisjon
There are many astonishingly beautiful and rare citterns exhibited in Norwegian Museums. The Norwegian cittern maker Amund Hansen (1734 – ca.1812) and his signature model, wich in the corpus design combines the shape of a bell and a pear, is the most ...

A multi-scale analysis of bull sperm methylome revealed both species peculiarities and conserved tissue-specific features

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2018
BackgroundSpermatozoa have a remarkable epigenome in line with their degree of specialization, their unique nature and different requirements for successful fertilization. Accordingly, perturbations in the establishment of DNA methylation patterns during

Polaronic and Electrochemical Signatures in Group IVB (Ti, Zr, Hf) Oxides: Unified SKP–DFT Insights for Tunable Transport in Energy and Electronic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Charge carrier concentration and mobility in TiO2, ZrO2, and HfO2 powder films are experimentally mapped as a function of temperature. The results uncover polaron‐mediated transport regimes and field‐activated conduction, enabling the design of oxide‐based electronic and energy devices with thermally tunable functionality.

The changes of fatty acids composition in beef of charolaise bulls slaughtered at different weight

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2011
The aim of this work was to evaluate a slaughter weight influence (500–580; 581–640; 641–700 kg) of Charolaise bulls on intramuscular fat content and fatty acid profile in musculus longissimus thoracis (MLT).

ProAKAP4 Semen Concentrations as a Valuable Marker Protein of Post-Thawed Semen Quality and Bull Fertility: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesVeterinary Sciences, 2022
Functional sperm quality markers to predict bull fertility have been actively investigated. Among them, proAKAP4, which is the precursor of AKAP4, the main structural protein in the fibrous sheath of spermatozoa; appears to be promising, especially since

Unravelling the genomic architecture of bull fertility in Holstein cattle

open access: yesBMC Genetics, 2016
BackgroundFertility is considered an important economic trait in dairy cattle. Most studies have investigated cow fertility while bull fertility has received much less consideration. The main objective of this study was to perform a comprehensive genomic

Multifunctional, Flexible and Interactive PVDF Fibers with Tunable Conductivity via CNT Coatings for Sensing and Smart Textile Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐step fabrication strategy combines electrospinning with electrophoretic deposition of carbon nanotubes to produce conductive, porous PVDF fiber mats. These flexible composites serve as multifunctional sensors, capable of detecting pressure, motion, respiration, and temperature.

A Study in Bulls

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1920
Summary 1. Purebred dairy bulls vary greatly in their ability to transmit producing capacity to their offspring. 2. This is not a breed characteristic. 3. In determining the value of a bull the difficulties he has to overcome must be taken into consideration.

Review: Genomics of bull fertility.

open access: yesAnimal, 2018
Fertility is one of the most economically important traits in both beef and dairy cattle production; however, only female fertility is typically subjected to selection.
