Optical Fiber‐Based Versatile Wearable Force Myography System: Application to Human–Robot Interaction

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A compact and flexible wearable force myography sensor based on optical fiber technology detects muscle activity through pressure‐induced light loss. The sensor offers high sensitivity for detecting subtle force and finger motion changes, along with excellent signal stability under dynamic and sweating conditions.

Changes in Bull Semen Metabolome in Relation to Cryopreservation and Fertility

open access: yesAnimals, 2020
Semen cryopreservation determines several sperm damages, including the loss of fertility-associated proteins. The purpose of the study was to compare the metabolite contents in bovine sperm and seminal plasma before and after cryopreservation, and ...

Spatially-adaptive sensing in nonparametric regression

open access: yes, 2013
While adaptive sensing has provided improved rates of convergence in sparse regression and classification, results in nonparametric regression have so far been restricted to quite specific classes of functions.

Three Synchronized, Miniaturized, Wireless Inertial Measurement Unit Sensors for Automated Gait and Balance Analysis System

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study presents a compact, three IMU wearable system that enables accurate motion capture and robust gait‐feature extraction, thereby supporting reliable machine learning‐based balance evaluation. Accurate assessment of balance is critical for fall prevention and targeted rehabilitation, particularly in older adults and individuals with ...

Improving an inequality for the divisor function

open access: yes, 2018
We improve using elementary means an explicit bound on the divisor function due to Friedlander and Iwaniec. Consequently we modestly improve a result regarding a sieving inequality for Gaussian sequences.Comment: 8 pages, to appear in Bull ...

A Soft Wearable Robot for Vertical Jump Enhancement via a Pneumatic Energy‐Storing Propulsion Actuator and Triarticular Kinetic‐Chained Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
The Jump‐Enhancing Textile Suit integrates the Pneumatic Energy‐Storing Propulsion Actuator (PESPA) and the Triarticular Kinetic‐Chained Structure (TKiCS). PESPA stores elastic energy under pneumatic pressure and releases it during the propulsive phase to augment movement.
