To bunch or to antibunch

Science, 2017
Optics Particles of matter can be classed as either as bosons or fermions. Their subsequent behavior in terms of their physical properties and interactions depends on which quantum statistics they obey. Photons, for instance, are bosons and tend to bunch. Electrons are fermions and tend to antibunch. Vest et al.

On bunched typing

Journal of Functional Programming, 2003
We study a typing scheme derived from a semantic situation where a single category possesses several closed structures, corresponding to different varieties of function type. In this scheme typing contexts are trees built from two (or more) binary combining operations, or in short, bunches ...

On Bunched Polymorphism

2005
We describe a polymorphic extension of the substructural lambda calculus αλ associated with the logic of bunched implications. This extension is particularly novel in that both variables and type variables are treated substructurally, being maintained through a system of zoned, bunched contexts.

The Wild Bunch:

2019
Gérard Camy’s thesis is that the violence in The Wild Bunch expresses the director’s pessimistic view of unredeemed (and potentially unredeemable) human nature. The film’s shootouts—raw, seemingly unmediated—are indicative of a societal breakdown of not just restraint but norms.

Bunch-by-Bunch Feedback Kickers for SPEAR3

2017
SPEAR3 operates with a large cross-section copper vacuum chamber, mode-damped RF cavities and low-impedance insertion devices. As a result, the beam is passively stable for 280-bunch circulating beam current up to 500ma when the background gas pressure is low.

Bunch-by-bunch longitudinal phase monitor at SSRF

Nuclear Science and Techniques, 2018
Beam signals captured from a button-type pickup contain multidimensional information including the bunch charge, transverse position, bunch length, and longitudinal phase. A bunch phase monitor, which retrieves longitudinal phase information from a pickup signal at a bunch-by-bunch rate, has been developed at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility.

PEP-II bunch-by-bunch current monitor

Proceedings of the 1997 Particle Accelerator Conference (Cat. No.97CH36167), 2002
PEP-II is an asymmetric B-Factory that will have 2200 meter rings storing 9 GeV electrons and 3.1 GeV positrons, each with as many as 3492 beam bunches. To minimize beam-beam instabilities it is important to have equal bunch charge in each ring. This is accomplished by measuring the relative bunch charge and controlling injection timing and intensity ...

Bunch-by-bunch measurement and feedback system of HLS

2007 IEEE Particle Accelerator Conference (PAC), 2007
In this paper, HLS (Hefei light Source) bunch-by-bunch measurement and feedback system will be introduced. This system is integrated with longitudinal oscillation measurement system, fast vector control, fiber notch filter and bunch current detection system. The detail of the two fronts will be shown.

Design of a Ultrafast Stripline Kicker for Bunch-by-Bunch Feedback

2019
Lorentz force detuning and beam loading effect of the rf cavities will induce a slope of the cavity gradient. Combed with the cavity misalignments, transverse position of subsequent bunches will differ from each other. The CAEP THz Free Electron Laser facility(CTFEL) will have a fast transverse bunch-by-bunch feedback system on its test beamline, which
