Atom-Mechanical Hong-Ou-Mandel Interference [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum, 2022
Quantum coupling between mechanical oscillators and atomic gases generating entanglement has been recently experimentally demonstrated using their subsequent interaction with light.

The Tevatron bunch by bunch longitudinal dampers [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2003 Bipolar/BiCMOS Circuits and Technology Meeting (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37440), 2004
We describe in this paper the Tevatron bunch by bunch dampers. The goal of the dampers is to stop the spontaneous longitudinal beam size blowup of the protons during a store. We will go through the theory and also show the measured results during the commissioning of this system.

CLINOTRON AS A FREQUENCY MULTIPLIER IN THE SUB-MM WAVEBAND (λ= 0.935 mm) [PDF]

open access: yesРадиофизика и электроника, 2015
In comparison to backward wave oscillator (BWO) of O-type, requirements to the quality of electron beams are weakened in the frequency multipliers. Therefore, frequency multipliers may have a considerable perspective for mastering the sub-millimetre ...

Step Bunching with Alternation of Structural Parameters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
By taking account of the alternation of structural parameters, we study bunching of impermeable steps induced by drift of adatoms on a vicinal face of Si(001).

Photon bunching in high-harmonic emission controlled by quantum light [PDF]

open access: yesNature Photonics
Attosecond spectroscopy comprises several techniques to probe matter using electrons and photons. One frontier of attosecond methods is to reveal complex phenomena arising from quantum-mechanical correlations in the matter system, in the photon fields ...

Light of Two Atoms in Free Space: Bunching or Antibunching? [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2019
Photon statistics divides light sources into three different categories, characterized by bunched, antibunched, or uncorrelated photon arrival times. Single atoms, ions, molecules, or solid state emitters display antibunching of photons, while classical ...

Identifying Spatial–Temporal Characteristics and Significant Factors of Bus Bunching Based on an eGA and DT Model

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Bus bunching is a common phenomenon caused by irregular bus headway, which increases the passenger waiting time, makes the passenger capacity uneven, and severely reduces the reliability of bus service.

Bounds and Bunching: Distributions of Air Pollutants Produced by New Automobiles

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2015
Euro norms set limits on per-kilometer emissions of air pollutants produced by new cars. Satisfying these limits is always costly, the existing models generally assume that cars are produced as to just satisfy the norms.

Continuous bunch-by-bunch spectroscopic investigation of the microbunching instability [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2018
Electron accelerators and synchrotrons can be operated to provide short emission pulses due to longitudinally compressed or sub-structured electron bunches. Above a threshold current, the high charge density leads to the micro-bunching instability and the formation of sub-structures on the bunch shape.

Bunching to Maximize Tax Credits: Evidence from Kinks in the US Tax Schedule

open access: yes, 2020
We document bunching at tax kinks using a panel of 258 million income tax returns in the United States from 1996 to 2014. During this period, bunching grew by 700%. While most bunchers are self-employed, a substantial number of wage earners also bunch by
