[ReS4]⊖(Et4N⊕ salt) reacts with FeCl2 in the presence of (Ph4P)Cl in dichloromethane to give the first solid thiorhenato complex [Cl2Fe(ReS4)FeCl2]2⊖ as Ph4P⊕ salt, which contains a linear metal atom array with an odd number of electrons.
