AbstractLet F be a symplectic vector bundle over a space X. We construct a bundle of elementary C∗-algebras over X, and prove that the Dixmier-Douady invariant of this bundle is zero. The underlying Hilbert bundles, with their associated module structures, determine a characteristic class: we prove that this class is the second Stiefel-Whitney class of

In lymphoid organs, antigen recognition and B cell receptor signaling rely on integrins and the cytoskeleton. Integrins act as mechanoreceptors, couple B cell receptor activation to cytoskeletal remodeling, and support immune synapse formation as well as antigen extraction.

Structure theorem for Jordan algebra bundles [PDF]
Purpose – The aims of this paper is to prove that every semisimple Jordan algebra bundle is locally trivial and establish the decomposition theorem for locally trivial Jordan algebra bundles using the decomposition theorem of Lie algebra bundles.

Chern classes of tropical vector bundles [PDF]
We introduce tropical vector bundles, morphisms and rational sections of these bundles and define the pull-back of a tropical vector bundle and of a rational section along a morphism. Afterwards we use the bounded rational sections of a tropical vector bundle to define the Chern classes of this bundle and prove some basic properties of Chern classes ...

Foliations of Tangent Bundle in a Finsler Manifold [PDF]
In this paper, a frame is introduced on tangent bundle of a Finsler manifold in a manner that it makes some simplicity to study the properties of the natural foliations in tangent bundle. Moreover, we show that the indicatrix bundle of a Finsler manifold

Regulatory bundling consists of the ability of administrative agencies to aggregate and disaggregate rules. Agencies, in other words, can bundle what would otherwise be multiple rules into just one. Conversely, they can split one rule into several. This observation parallels other recent work on how agencies can aggregate adjudications and enforcement ...

Social context prevents heat hormetic effects against mutagens during fish development
This study shows that sublethal heat stress protects fish embryos against ultraviolet radiation, a concept known as ‘hormesis’. However, chemical stress transmission between fish embryos negates this protective effect. By providing evidence for the mechanistic molecular basis of heat stress hormesis and interindividual stress communication, this study ...

miRNA‐29 regulates epidermal and mesenchymal functions in skin repair
miRNA‐29 inhibits cell‐to‐cell and cell‐to‐matrix adhesion by silencing mRNA targets. Adhesion is controlled by complex interactions between many types of molecules coded by mRNAs. This is crucial for keeping together the layers of the skin and for regenerating the skin after wounding.

Parabolic k-ample bundles [PDF]
We construct projectivization of a parabolic vector bundle and a tautological line bundle over it. It is shown that a parabolic vector bundle is ample if and only if the tautological line bundle is ample. This allows us to generalize the notion of a k-ample bundle, introduced by Sommese, to the context of parabolic bundles.
