Ventricular arrhythmias in young competitive athletes: Prevalence, determinants, and underlying substrate [PDF]
Whether ventricular arrhythmias (VAs) represent a feature of the adaptive changes of the athlete's heart remains elusive. We aimed to assess the prevalence, determinants, and underlying substrates of VAs in young competitive athletes.Background--Whether ...

Ca2.5Ag0.3Sm0.2Co4O9 semiconductor materials are synthesized and produced in this study using the sol–gel and cold pressing techniques for thermoelectric generator applications. As template samples are added, the Seebeck coefficient and power factor values rise, peaking at 800 °C for Ca2.5Ag0.3Sm0.2Co4O9 at 274.47 μV K−1 and 0.58 mW mK−2, respectively.

Possible Involvement of Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction in Painful Left Bundle Branch Block
Cases of painful left bundle branch block syndrome have been reported; however, the pathophysiology of chest pain remains unclear. Here, we report a patient with left bundle branch block and chest pain.

A case of infra-nodal Wenckebach conduction block with alternating bundle branch block
Background Atrioventricular (AV) node normally has decremental conduction property and a longer refractory period than His-Purkinje system (HPS). This results in AV conduction delay or block at the level of AV node in response to short-coupled atrial ...

Quantification of cardiac conduction abnormalities using segmental vector fourier analysis of radionuclide gated blood pool scans [PDF]
Timing abnormalities of myocardial contractility may occur as inter- or intraventricular asynchrony. Gated blood pool scintigraphy was performed on 21 patients with a normal ejection fraction and the following electrocardiograms: six normal, six with ...

3D Bioprinting of Thick Adipose Tissues with Integrated Vascular Hierarchies
An advanced 3D bioprinting technique is used here to create thick adipose tissues with a central, vessel and extensive branching. The construct is made using alginate, gelatin and collagen‐based bioinks. Flow through the complex vessel network is demonstrated as well as its successful integration with a femoral artery following implantation in a rat ...

How to Implant His Bundle and Left Bundle Pacing Leads: Tips and Pearls
Cardiac pacing is the treatment of choice for the management of patients with bradycardia. Although right ventricular apical pacing is the standard therapy, it is associated with an increased risk of pacing-induced cardiomyopathy and heart failure ...

Transient unexpected improvement of AV conduction: What is the mechanism? [PDF]
This ECG was recorded from a 93 year old patient with a previously documented third degree AV block and an underlying LBBB. The twelve lead ECG demonstrates sinus bradycardia at a rate of 52 beats per minute, a PR interval of 230 milliseconds, and a ...

PBTTT‐OR‐R, a C14‐alkoxy/alkyl‐PBTTT polymer derivative, is of substantial interest for optoelectronics due to its specific fullerene intercalation behavior and enhanced charge‐transfer absorption. Comparing this polymer with (S) and without (O) homocoupling defects reveals that PBTTT‐OR‐R(O) forms stable co‐crystals with PC61BM, while PBTTT‐OR‐R(S ...
