On the Limnology of Deep and Saline Lake Burdur in Turkey

open access: yesActa hydrochimica et hydrobiologica, 2004
AbstractLimnological characteristics of Lake Burdur in Lake District in south‐western Turkey are presented. It is a deep, tectonic (estimated max. depth 100 m), athalassic, highly alkaline, and saline lake. A set of physical and chemical variables was monitored, phyto‐ and zooplankton was sampled from surface layer of the lake during 1997.

Determination of the origin and recharge process of water resources in Salda Lake Basin by using the environmental, tritium and radiocarbon isotopes (Burdur/Turkey)

open access: yesBulletin of the Mineral Research and Exploration, 2020
The Salda Lake basin which is in the southwestern Turkey is an important water body in view of environmental values. We used stable isotopes (δD and δ18O), δ3H and 14C composition of the water samples to understand recharge process effective in the ...

Structural characterization of a variety of spider silks from Turkey using different biophysical techniques

open access: yesJournal of Spectroscopy, Volume 25, Issue 3-4, Page 155-167, 2011., 2011
Various experimental methods (XRD, FTIR, SAXS, DLS and SEM) were used to investigate structures of the silk samples weaved by spiders in Turkey. Silk samples were collected from the natural habitats belonging to the spider species (i.e., Near Salt Lake/şereflikoçhisar, İvriz Dam/Ereǧli‐Konya, Karataş Lake/Burdur and several locations in Black Sea ...
