Secularism, Gender and Masculinity in Nineteenth‐Century Cremation in Europe and the USA
Gender &History, EarlyView.ABSTRACT This essay explores, from transnational perspectives, the early history of modern cremation, which developed in the long nineteenth century with secularist connotations. I argue that the beginnings of modern cremation were shaped by bourgeois men who claimed certain identifiers for themselves in a gendering and Othering way.

Urban Environments Impact Parasite Diversity and an Antipredator Response in an Amphibian Model
Integrative Zoology, EarlyView.Urbanization reshapes parasite–host interactions in the amphibian Pelophylax perezi, increasing blood parasite diversity and Lankesterella loads under higher anthropogenic pressure. Urban frogs also show longer flight initiation distances and tibiofibulae, indicating altered antipredator strategies.
