SOME PROPERTIES OF FRACTIONAL BURGERS EQUATION

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2002
The fractional generalization of a one‐dimensional Burgers equationwith initial conditions ɸ(x, 0) = ɸ0(x); ɸt(x,0) = ψ0 (x), where ɸ = ɸ(x,t) ∈ C2(Ω): ɸt = δɸ/δt; aDx p is the Riemann‐Liouville fractional derivative of the order p; Ω = (x,t) : x ∈ E 1, t > 0; and the explicit form of a particular analytical solution are suggested.

Differential sensitivity of midline development to mitosis during and after primitive streak extension

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Midline establishment is a fundamental process during early embryogenesis for Bilaterians. Midline morphogenesis in non‐amniotes can occur without mitosis, through Planar Cell Polarity (PCP) signaling. By contrast, amniotes utilize both cellular processes for developing the early midline landmark, the primitive streak (PS).

Burgers Equation Revisited

open access: yes, 2003
This paper studies the 1D pressureless turbulence (the Burgers equation). It shows that reliable numerics in this problem is very easy to produce if one properly discretizes the Burgers equation. The numerics it presents confirms the 7/2 power law proposed for probability of observing large negative velocity gradients in this problem.

Local Polynomial Regression and Filtering for a Versatile Mesh‐Free PDE Solver

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, EarlyView.
A high‐order, mesh‐free finite difference method for solving differential equations is presented. Both derivative approximation and scheme stabilisation is carried out by parametric or non‐parametric local polynomial regression, making the resulting numerical method accurate, simple and versatile. Numerous numerical benchmark tests are investigated for

Developmental dynamics of symptoms of emotional problems in childhood and adolescence: A longitudinal network analysis

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
This study examined how emotional symptoms co‐develop from childhood to adolescence using longitudinal data from over 11,000 children and adolescents. Network analyses revealed reciprocal links between core symptoms of anxiety and depression, with no significant differences between males and females.

Are Workplace Friendships Nothing for Older Workers? Decoding the Psychological Mechanisms Linking Age to Workplace Friendship

open access: yesJournal of Organizational Behavior, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Given the benefits of workplace friendship, understanding its maintenance is essential. Age is particularly relevant due to the aging and increasingly age‐diverse workforce, yet its relationship with workplace friendship remains unclear, with prior studies reporting positive, negative, or null correlations. As age itself is a proxy for further
