Seismic Response of Buried Submarine Pipelines
Journal of Energy Resources Technology, 1988Submarine pipelines are many a time buried into a jet-blasted channel in the seabed. Seismic response of such buried pipelines are investigated in this paper. The earthquake is considered as a partially correlated stationary random process characterized by a power spectral density function (PSDF).

Liquefaction Analysis for Buried Pipelines

A Plastic Plate to Protect Buried Pipelines
Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, 2015Abstract Third party interference (TPI) is clearly the main cause of accidents on buried pipelines. As shown in all international reports, it counts for 40 to 50% of all accidents on pipes. Besides the most common solution used in Europe to prevent third party damages, i.e.

Earthquake resistance of buried pipelines
A complete dynamic analysis is performed for the investigation of the behaviour of buried pipelines in a seismic environment. Axial and transverse displacements and axial and bending strains are evaluated. The effects of seismic ground motion parameters and structural and soil characteristics on the response of these extended structures are determined.openaire +1 more source
Seismic design of buried pipelines
2020ABSTRACT SEISMIC DESIGN OF BURIED PIPELINES ERTU?RUL, Tuğrul M. S. in Mechanical Engineering Supervisor: Prof. Dr. O. Selçuk YAHŞİ June, 1994, 70 pages In this study, seismic design of buried pipelines is performed, and axial and bending stresses in the pipe are analysed.

Analysis of Buried, Jointed Pipelines
1987ABSTRACT An exact, closed-form solution for a uniformly-loaded, straight, buried, Jointed Bernoulli-Euler beam with an arbitrarily-located piece-wise linear joint has been developed in the usefull form of a space-beam, finite-element suitable for inclusion in a space-frame, stiffness computer program.

External Pipeline Coating Selection for New and Existing Buried Pipelines
Volume 1: Regulations, Codes, and Standards; Current Issues; Materials; Corrosion and Integrity, 1996The majority of existing and new pipelines are externally coated. The opportunity to examine buried pipelines has shown that selection of both shop and over-the-ditch field applied coatings has resulted in many failures. Coating selection in 1996 has become more complex because of the abundance of available products.

Physical Forces on Buried Pipeline Coatings
Volume 2: Integrity and Corrosion; Offshore Issues; Pipeline Automation and Measurement; Rotating Equipment, 2000Physical forces activated when buried pipelines move relative to the soil can damage coatings. The problem is most common near bends and areas with poor backfill compaction. Most solutions are best implemented early in the design work when pipeline routes, alignments, and operating conditions are being selected.

Permafrost Thawing beneath Buried Pipelines
2004This chapter presents analytical, methods of evaluation of the depth of thawing beneath a buried pipe. The methods are based on a so-called steady-state approximation. The method of prediction of thaw radius around a pipe in an infinite domain has been known for decades. It was possibly first introduced by Chamy (1940).
