Tailoring Microstructure in Copper‐Based Conductive Metal–Organic Frameworks for Enhanced Chemiresistive Sensing and Uptake of Sulfur Dioxide

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Precursor‐ and solvent‐mediated synthesis yields four Cu3(HHTP)2 morphologies with distinct physicochemical, sorption, and sensing properties toward SO2. Uptake capacities correlate with BET surface area, while sensing performance scales with particle aspect ratio.

Multi‐Ion Doping Controlled CEI Formation in Structurally‐Stable High‐Energy Monoclinic‐Phase NASICON Cathodes for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The graphical abstract illustrates the synthesis pathway, morphological feature, and thermodynamic feasibility of entropy‐engineered NASICON cathodes for sodium‐ion batteries. Abstract Overcoming the energy density limitations of sodium‐ion batteries (NIBs) requires innovative strategies to optimize cathode materials.

The conformal bootstrap at finite temperature

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We initiate an approach to constraining conformal field theory (CFT) data at finite temperature using methods inspired by the conformal bootstrap for vacuum correlation functions. We focus on thermal one- and two-point functions of local operators on the

High‐Entropy Perovskite Nanofibers for Bifunctional Air Electrodes in Reversible Protonic Ceramic Electrochemical Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐entropy perovskite nanofibers serve as robust and active bifunctional air electrodes in reversible protonic ceramic electrochemical cells. Their compositional complexity stabilizes the lattice, enriches oxygen vacancies, and accelerates surface exchange.

Spinning dispersive CFT sum rules and bulk scattering

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We use commutativity of null-integrated operators on the same null plane to construct dispersive CFT sum rules for spinning operators. The contribution of heavy blocks to these sum rules is dominated by a saddle configuration that we call the “scattering

3. Edmund Burke and Conservatism

open access: yes, 1958
Edmund Buxke (1729-1797) has often been compared to John Wesley, and there are several bases for such a comparison. Both infused a new life and meaning into the coin temporary formal structure of politics and religion, respectively.

Undefining Man: A Case for Symbolic Animal Communication via Refutation of Kenneth Burke\u27s Definition of Man [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
There have been tendencies in various fields to use communication as a way of differentiating humans and other species. Even when individuals are confronted with empirical evidence to the contrary, many still hold onto the notion that humans are in a ...

Influence of van der Waals forces on the adsorption structure of benzene on silicon studied using density functional theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Two different adsorption configurations of benzene on the Si(001)-(2 x 1) surface, the tight-bridge and butterfly structures, were studied using density functional theory.

Electrochemical Formation of BiVO4/BiPO4 Photoanodes for Enhanced Selectivity toward H2O2 Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In acidic KPi, V dissolves from the BiVO4 lattice, while adsorbed phosphate reacts with the electrode under an external bias, forming a BiPO4 surface layer. This BiPO4 layer exhibits stronger bicarbonate adsorption, redirecting the water oxidation pathway toward two‐electron H2O2 production.

Light-ray operators in conformal field theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We argue that every CFT contains light-ray operators labeled by a continuous spin J. When J is a positive integer, light-ray operators become integrals of local operators over a null line.
