Combining store-and-forward pictures and videoconferencing for outpatient burn follow-up care

open access: yesBurns Open, 2018
Objective: Regional burn centers face challenges in follow-up care for large catchment areas. In 2006, we implemented a store-and-forward outpatient protocol (“BurnPics”) for established burn patients in our region to assess healing and range of motion ...

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

A study into the dependence of the cladding-fuel pellet gap conductance on burn-up and the effects on the reactor core neutronic performance [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Energy and Technology, 2019
This paper presents the results of the research to study the dependence of the VVER-1000 (1200) cores neutronic characteristics on the cladding – fuel pellet gap conductance coefficient in the process of the fuel burn-up.

Structure‐forward targeting of claudins with synthetic binders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Claudins form the paracellular barriers between epithelial and endothelial tissues at tight junctions and are targets for molecular binders with the goal of modulating barrier permeability. Claudin‐binding molecules are relevant in drug delivery or in altering claudin interactions with disease‐causing proteins.

Targeted multi-omic analysis of human skin tissue identifies alterations of conventional and unconventional T cells associated with burn injury

open access: yeseLife, 2023
Burn injuries are a leading cause of unintentional injury, associated with a dysfunctional immune response and an increased risk of infections. Despite this, little is known about the role of T cells in human burn injury.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Does Acute Kidney Injury Condition Affect Revised BAUX Score in Predicting Mortality in Major Burn Patients?

open access: yesSiriraj Medical Journal, 2019
Objective: This study aimed to assess the accuracy of the revised BAUX score for predicting mortality among the major burn patients with acute kidney injury (AKI) compared with non-AKI group. The epidemiologic information and risk factors of AKI in major
