Biomedical research involving United States Veterans continues to advance healthcare beyond the Veterans Health Administration. This is particularly true in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), where Veteran‐centric research has uncovered novel insights into pathogenesis, risk factors, and disease manifestations, informing clinical care and research across both ...

Vision Transformers for Burned Area Delineation. [PDF]
The automatic identification of burned areas is an important task that was mainly managed manually or semi-automatically in the past. In the last years, thanks to the availability of novel deep neural network architectures, automatic segmentation solutions have been proposed also in the emergency management domain.

This study applies machine learning regression to predict chromium layer thickness in decorative trivalent chromium electroplating, using 441 experiments from laboratory‐scale (1L) and pilot‐scale (14L) setups. Tree‐based models, particularly CatBoost, outperformed linear regression by capturing nonlinear parameter interactions (R2$R^2$ up to 0.77 ...

Burned area detection based on time-series analysis in a cloud computing environment
There are large omission errors in the estimation of burned area in map products that are generated at a global scale. This error is then inherited by other models, for instance, those used to report Greenhouse Gas Emissions using a “bottom up” approach.

Suitability of band angle indices for burned area mapping in the Maule Region (Chile)
In January 2017, 114 active fires burned throughout Chile at the same time. These fires spread quickly due to high temperatures, fast dry winds, and low vegetation water content. The fire events burned more than 570,000 ha, from which 20% of the area was

Feasibility and Limitations of the Advanced Replica Process for Bioactive Glasses
Periodic 3D‐printed Kelvin‐cell templates enable a controlled advanced replica process for fabricating highly porous glass lattices. Across P45K9, 45S5, and 13–93, material‐dependent differences in coating, burnout, and shrinkage lead to distinct strut morphologies, while comparable final porosities of 83%–88% are retained.

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron
