Carborane Burning Rate Catalysts

1972
Abstract : New carborane burning rate accelerators designed for use in solid propellants, without the problems associated with current accelerators, have been prepared. High molecular weight, non-volatile derivatives of bis(1- carboranylmethyl) and bis-(1-carboranylethyl) ethers were synthesized and evaluated for compatibility in HTPB binders as well ...

Burning Rates of Solid Propellants

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1960
The burning mechanism of a solid propellant is described in terms of a pyrolysis law, a premixed laminar flame, and nothing more. A quantitatively accurate burning rate formula is derived from the theory. The predicted burning rate pressure dependence agrees with the experimental results for ammonium perchlorate propellants.

On the Burning Rate of Carbon Monoxide

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1956
Burning velocity measurements of the CO–O2–N2–H2O system were made with the flat-flame burner technique. The plan of experimentation was to vary the H2O content, the equivalence ratio, and the pressure, while holding the flame temperature constant by controlling the proportion of N2 in the mixture.

Burning rate of fuel cylinders

Combustion and Flame, 1978
Abstract The mass burning rate of a horizontal fuel cylinder at low Grashof numbers is analyzed using a semiempirical method. The method consists of utilizing the Schvab-Zeldovich formulation with a flame-sheet model and measured flame standoff distances.

Increased survival rate in patients with massive burns

Burns, 1992
A review of 113 patients with massive burns treated in our centre from 1970 to 1989 is presented. There were 57 adults patients with massive burns (> or = 50 per cent TBSA) in 1980-89 who were compared with 56 patients with similar massive burns in the period between 1970 and 1979.

Glomerular filtration rate is increased in burn patients

Burns, 2010
Urinary output, a key parameter guiding fluid resuscitation in burn trauma, is an inadequate measure of renal function. In this study, the clearance of iohexol (CL) was used to follow the glomerular filtration rate during the first week after burn.

Burn Rate Model Validation

2021
The improved burn rate model was validated using engines A and B. Their data are provided in Table 3.1 and Table 3.2. The PTA settings were given in Chapter 3. Additionally, measurements of engines C, D, E and F were available for model validation. Engine C is a high-turbulence long-stroke engine with different pistons to change the compression ratio.

Improvement in catheter sepsis rate in burned children

Journal of Pediatric Surgery, 1990
Routine frequent central venous catheter (CVC) changes in burned patients (either change in insertion site or change over guidewires) has been advocated to decrease catheter-related sepsis. The need for this management has not been verified for children with burns.

Rates of Dysfunction in Parents of Pediatric Patients With Burns

Journal of Burn Care & Rehabilitation, 1998
The purpose of the current study was to examine the rates of family and child dysfunction in a prospectively, consecutively admitted sample of children. One hundred eleven parents of children consecutively admitted for burn treatment were interviewed using a demographic questionnaire during their child's stay.
