Unfavourable results in acute burn management
An etiology based classification has been devised to innumerate all possible unfavorable results (complications) which may occur during acute burn management. Various factors, right from the onset of burns, may affect the final outcome.

Characterization of single-crystal synthetic diamond for multi-watt continuous-wave Raman lasers [PDF]
A continuous-wave diamond Raman laser is demonstrated with an output power of 5.1 W at 1217 nm. This Raman laser is intracavity pumped by a side-pumped Nd:YLF rod laser: a 43-fold brightness enhancement between the Nd:YLF and diamond Raman lasers is ...

A Close Look at the Local Structure of Functional Polymers: The Example of Poly(Vinylidene Fluoride)
To accurately develop structure‐property relationships in functional macromolecules, it is increasingly important to consider the local chain arrangement in addition to long‐range order. It is demonstrated in the case of poly(vinylidene fluoride) that solid‐state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy can provide detailed insights into the local
