Perovskite Light‐Emitting Diodes with Quantum Wires and Nanorods

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review focuses on low‐dimensional perovskite materials and discusses their applications in light‐emitting diodes (LEDs). Special attention is given to the introduction of perovskite quantum wires and nanorods, two unique types of one‐dimensional (1D) materials, and their interesting optoelectronic properties.

Hazardous Waits: CPSC Lets Crucial Time Pass Before Warning Public About Dangerous Products [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Despite a law requiring manufacturers to provide the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) with "immediate" notification of dangerous products, the agency typically delays nearly seven months after learning of dangerous, defective products before ...

Polyphenol‐Derived Carbonaceous Frameworks with Multiscale Porosity for High‐Power Electrochemical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines the fluid dynamic behavior within carbonaceous porous structures, linking structural characteristics to electrolyte transport and electrochemical performance. Specifically, it quantitatively assesses the effect of polyphenol derivatives‐harnessed multiscale pore structures on active surface utilization and electrochemical activity ...

Morphogenic Growth 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
I additive manufacturing process exploits the spatial propagation of a polymerization reaction front to produce 3D polymer parts 10× faster and 1000× more energy efficient than the fastest stereolithography. In contrast with existing 3D printing, this morphogenic process is inspired by biological “growth and form” due to the self‐directed propagation ...

Some conjectures about the mechanism of poltergeist phenomenon [PDF]

open access: yesNeuroQuantology, Vol 6, No 2 (2008), 2008
Poltergeist accounts concern at least four kinds of strange spontaneous manifestations, such as burning of materials, failures of electric equipments, rapping noises and movements of objects. A simple analysis of phenomenology of these disturbances shows that they might have a common origin, that is, a reduction in strength of molecular bonds due to an

Vector potential analysis of the helicon antenna in vacuum [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2011
The helicon antenna is a well-known device in the field of electric propulsion. Here we investigate the vector potential produced in vacuum by such an antenna with typical size parameters. Both a static and a dynamic analysis are performed. The dynamic calculation is evaluated at both the usual operating frequency and one which is slightly greater.
