Ambient‐Dried MOF/Cellulose‐Based Aerogels for Atmospheric Water Harvesting and Sustainable Water Management in Agriculture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ambient‐dried composite aerogels integrating MOF‐303, TEMPO‐oxidized cellulose nanofibers (TOCNF), and hygroscopic salts enable high‐performance atmospheric water harvesting (AWH), achieving competitive uptake at both low and high humidity. Enhanced with a solar‐evaporation layer, these scalable aerogels support self‐sustained plant growth in a ...

The biographical construction of Robert Fergusson, 1774-1900 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This article traces the biographical construction of Robert Fergusson from his death to the nineteenth-century biography by A.B. Grosart. It explores the influence of Romanticism, the Burns cult and the literature of sensibility on the construction of ...

Symbiotic stars as possible progenitors of SNe Ia: binary parameters and overall outlook

open access: yes, 2011
Symbiotic stars are interacting binaries in which the first-formed white dwarf accretes and burns material from a red giant companion. This paper aims at presenting physical characteristics of these objects and discussing their possible link with ...

Covalent Adaptable Networks with Associative Siloxane Exchange Enabled by Amide‐Based Internal Catalysis: Designing for Reprocessability and Extrudability by Increasing the Cross‐Link Density

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Internally catalyzed siloxane dynamic chemistry is demonstrated resulting from amides covalently linked through alkyl chains to siloxanes. The alkyl length in the siloxane‐containing monomer tunes the network cross‐link density. Siloxane exchange dynamics are faster with increasing cross‐link density, because associative exchange is second order in ...

Tits Geometry and Positive Curvature

open access: yes, 2016
There is a well known link between (maximal) polar representations and isotropy representations of symmetric spaces provided by Dadok. Moreover, the theory by Tits and Burns-Spatzier provides a link between irreducible symmetric spaces of non-compact ...

Field‐Free Spin–Orbit Torque Switching of Perpendicular Magnetization by PtTe2/WTe2 Bilayers at Sub‐ns Timescales

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates ultrafast, field‐free spin–orbit torque (SOT) switching using a PtTe2/WTe2/CoFeB multilayer, achieving sub‐nanosecond magnetization reversal with record‐low energy consumption. The PtTe2/WTe2 bilayer generates an intrinsic out‐of‐plane spin current, enabling deterministic switching without external fields.

Thermal Injuries in Children: A Literature-Based Overview

open access: yesJournal of Education, Health and Sport
Burns are a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in children. While the majority of pediatric burns are not life-threatening, they can have a significant impact on a child's physical and psychological health.
