Widespread spring discharge drives major water–salt–heat fluxes in salt marshes
Abstract The occurrence, spatial distribution, and flux significance of submarine groundwater discharge (SGD) through preferential pathways in low‐permeability salt marshes remain poorly understood. Using thermal infrared imaging and in situ measurements, we mapped 983 saline springs in winter and 413 in summer across six tidal creeks on the muddy ...

Compound Heterozygous PCDH15 Variants Associated With Cone‐Rod Dystrophy in a Chinese Pedigree
This study represents the first report suggesting a genotype–phenotype relationship between PCDH15 genetic variants and isolated retinal manifestations absent auditory impairment or syndromic features, thereby providing preliminary evidence that may broaden the mutational spectrum associated with this gene.

Isolation, Cultivation AND Differentiation of bulge hair follicle stem cells [PDF]
Background & Aims: Throughout life, stem cells make new cells in various tissues. Bulge region of hair follicle indicated as sources of stem cells for along times but little studies done in vitro to characterize rat bulge hair follicle stem cells ...

Development of a Sandwich ELISA to Measure Exposure to Occupational Cow Hair Allergens [PDF]
Background: Cow hair and dander are important inducers of occupational allergies in cattle-exposed farmers. To estimate allergen exposure in farming environments, a sensitive enzyme immunoassay was developed to measure cow hair allergens.

Abstract Urban environments create unique challenges for wildlife, where dietary habits may reflect both ecological heterogeneity and societal disparities. In this study, we explored how social factors such as household income and human population density, and ecological factors such as tree canopy correlate with coyote (Canis latrans) diets in Seattle,

Clearer recommendations and improved caregiver education are urgently needed to support optimal ferret welfare. ABSTRACT Background The domestic ferret (Mustela putorius furo) is an increasingly popular non‐traditional companion animal; however, limited information is available on how caregivers manage feeding and husbandry practices.

We estimated seasonal space use, cover selection, and resource selection; evaluated gene flow and potential genetic barriers; and assessed cause‐specific survival rates and reproduction of radiomarked gray foxes in Indiana, USA. Our results provide evidence that gray foxes in Indiana are an edge species with relatively large home ranges, relatively low

ABSTRACT Body mass is widely used as an indicator of physiological condition and ecological fitness in spiders. However, directly measuring the mass of small, live individuals remains technically challenging. In this study, we evaluated a non‐invasive approach for predicting body mass in Eresus kollari using machine learning‐based (ML) models derived ...

ABSTRACT Background Nonobstructive azoospermia (NOA) is the most severe form of male infertility, with genetic factors contributing to approximately 30% of cases. However, only a small fraction of all NOA cases can be explained by the current genetic findings.

Antipredatory Strategies of Anurans: An Updated Conceptual Review
To unravel the evolutionary dynamics of predator–prey interactions, we propose an updated, three‐tiered classification of anuran antipredatory strategies. By mapping non‐behavioral, individual, and group defenses across five functional phases, this integrative framework introduces the concept of synergetic coupling.
