Nematology, 2010
Abstract Two burrowing nematode populations from Colombia were characterised using morphological, morphometric and molecular criteria. The morphological and morphometric characters of the two populations did not differ from those of Radopholus similis.

Description du nématode #Radopholus similis#.

Journal of Experimental Marine Biology and Ecology, 1989
The effect of sand-dollar Mellita quinquiesperforata (Leske) burrowing on a soft-bottom meiofauna community was examined at a subtidal site located off the northwest Florida coast. M. quinquiesperforata were common at the site with an average of 3 ind · 0.25 m −2 and their burrow trails were a distinctive feature of the sediment surface.

Non-volatile nematicides for control of burrowing nematode in banana plantations in north Queensland
Australian Journal of Experimental Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, 1979In a field trial which started at planting, Radopholus similis was controlled by fensulfothion applied at 2.0 g a.i. stool-1 in June and December each year for 4 years. Ethoprophos, fenamiphos and oxamyl applied at the same rate and times were less effective but they did reduce the rate of increase in numbers of nematodes.

Burrowing nematodes, Radopholus spp. are migratory endophytoparasitic nematodes which are prevalent in many tropical and subtropical regions throughout the world. They are highly destructive and damage a wide range of plants by destroying the cortex as they feed in roots (Ducharme, 1959; Ford et al., 1960). Radopholus spp.
