Survival of Radopholus similis (Cobb) in volcanic soils without host-plant [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The burrowing nematode Radopholus similis is the most damaging nematode on bananas. To minimize applications of nematicide, cropping systems based on fallow, rotation crop, and clean planting material have been developed in the French West Indies.

The development of plant-parasitic nematode infestations on micro-propagated banana plants following field control measures in Côte d'Ivoire [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Des essais au champ ont été menés en Côte d'Ivoire pour évaluer les possibilités d'utilisation de plants de bananiers micropropagés indemnes de nématodes après utilisation de méthodes de lutte chimique et culturales pour le contrôle des nématodes.

Reproductive Strategies and Karyotype of the Burrowing Nematode, Radopholus similis.

open access: yesJournal of nematology, 2011
Karyotype, gametogenesis, and gonad morphology were characterized for 56 Radopholus spp. isolates collected from Africa, Australia, Central America, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Puerto Rico, North America (Florida), and Hawaii. Seven of the isolates, all collected from Florida, were citrus-parasitic.

Advances in Plant-Nematode Interactions with Emphasis on the Notorious Nematode Genus Meloidogyne. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Plant infections by plant-parasitic nematodes (PPNs) continue to be one of the major limitations in agricultural systems. Root-knot nematodes (RKNs), belonging to the genus Meloidogyne, are one of the most important groups of PPNs worldwide.

CO2 leakage can cause loss of benthic biodiversity in submarine sands [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
One of the options to mitigate atmospheric CO2 increase is CO2 Capture and Storage in sub-seabed geological formations. Since predicting long-term storage security is difficult, different CO2 leakage scenarios and impacts on marine ecosystems require ...

Global Comparative Genomics of the Burrowing Nematode, Radopholus similis

open access: yesPhytoFrontiers™
Radopholus similis is a devastating pest to tropical agriculture, including economically important crops such as banana and citrus. To better understand the diverse biology of R. similis, the genomes of 18 populations from five continents were sequenced and compared to: 1) provide a snapshot of global genetic diversity of R ...

Soil biological quality of grassland fertilized with adjusted cattle manure slurries in comparison with organic and inorganic fertilizers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We studied the effect of five fertilizers (including two adjusted manure slurries) and an untreated control on soil biota and explored the effect on the ecosystem services they provided.

Characterization of a New Burrowing Nematode Population, Radopholus citrophilus, from Hawaii.

open access: yesJournal of nematology, 2011
Karyotype, host preference, isozyzme patterns, morphometrics, and mating behavior of two burrowing nematode populations from Hawaii, one infecting Anthurium sp. and the second infecting Musa sp., were compared with Radopholus similis and R. citrophilus populations from Florida. The population from Anthurium sp.

FIRST OCCURRENCE OF THE BURROWING NEMATODE (RADOPHOLUS SIMILIS) ON GINGER (ZINGIBER OFFICINALE) IN BRAZIL

open access: yesArquivos do Instituto Biológico, 1998
ABSTRACT The burrowing nematode, Radopholus similis, is reported infecting ginger, Zingiber officinale, in Brazil for the first time. Also, in the sarne material, Meloidogyne javanica was detected provoking galls on the rhizomes.
