Soil biological quality of grassland fertilized with adjusted cattle manure slurries in comparison with organic and inorganic fertilizers [PDF]
We studied the effect of five fertilizers (including two adjusted manure slurries) and an untreated control on soil biota and explored the effect on the ecosystem services they provided.

NUDIX‐type hydrolase enzymes of subclade I and II preferentially target the inositol pyrophosphate messengers 4‐ and 3‐InsP7, respectively. Inactivation of subclade II NUDTs disrupts phosphate homeostasis and enhances bacterial resistance, revealing connections between defense and nutrient signaling.

CO2 leakage can cause loss of benthic biodiversity in submarine sands [PDF]
One of the options to mitigate atmospheric CO2 increase is CO2 Capture and Storage in sub-seabed geological formations. Since predicting long-term storage security is difficult, different CO2 leakage scenarios and impacts on marine ecosystems require ...

Reproductive Strategies and Karyotype of the Burrowing Nematode, Radopholus similis.
Karyotype, gametogenesis, and gonad morphology were characterized for 56 Radopholus spp. isolates collected from Africa, Australia, Central America, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Puerto Rico, North America (Florida), and Hawaii. Seven of the isolates, all collected from Florida, were citrus-parasitic.

ABSTRACT Invertebrate burrow morphologies and distributions are presented for the tidal flats of the middle and lower reaches of the tide‐influenced (mesotidal), mud‐dominated Mira River estuary (SW Portugal) as an analogue for interpreting the ichnology of palaeoestuarine successions.

Sedimentology and geomorphology of tufa barrages on rock coast shore platforms
ABSTRACT Despite tufa deposits being widely distributed and increasingly recognised globally on rock coasts, their distribution in the tidal frame and geomorphology is poorly understood. The distribution, sedimentology and geomorphology of tufa barrages on supratidal rock coasts are assessed and their controls established.

Global Comparative Genomics of the Burrowing Nematode, Radopholus similis
Radopholus similis is a devastating pest to tropical agriculture, including economically important crops such as banana and citrus. To better understand the diverse biology of R. similis, the genomes of 18 populations from five continents were sequenced and compared to: 1) provide a snapshot of global genetic diversity of R ...
