A Data Burst Assembly Algorithm in Optical Burst Switching Networks [PDF]
Presently, optical burst switching (OBS) technology is under study as a promising solution for the backbone of the optical Internet in the near future because OBS eliminates the optical buffer problem at the switching node with the help of no optical/electro/optical conversion and guarantees class of service without any buffering.

What can we infer about the underlying physics from burst distributions observed in an RMHD simulation ? [PDF]
We determine that the sizes of bursts in mean-square current density in a reduced magnetohydrodynamic (RMHD)simulation follow power-law probability density function (PDF). The PDFs for burst durations and waiting time between bursts are clearly not exponential and could also be power-law.

Priority based Burst Assembly for Optical Burst Switched Network
Objective: In this paper, burst is aggregated on the basis of priority of the packets coming from different networks at the edge node of the optical network to enhance the QoS parameters such as burst drop, delay, packet delivery ratio and packet error.

Mechanisms of Diffusional Nucleation of Nanocrystals and Their Self-Assembly into Uniform Colloids [PDF]
We survey our research on modeling the mechanisms of control of uniformity in growth of nanosize and colloid particles. The former are produced as nanocrystals, by burst-nucleation from solution. The latter, colloid-size particles, are formed by self-assembly (aggregation) of the nanocrystals.

Star Formation and Stellar Mass Assembly in Dark Matter Halos: From Giants to Dwarfs [PDF]
The empirical model of Lu et al. 2014 is updated with recent data and used to study galaxy star formation and assembly histories. At $z > 2$, the predicted galaxy stellar mass functions are steep, and a significant amount of star formation is hosted by low-mass haloes that may be missed in current observations.

A model of optimal burst assembly for delay reduction at ingress OBS nodes
Burst assembly plays an important role in reducing the end-to-end delay of packets transported through optical burst switching (OBS) networks. Several methods have been proposed to reduce the delay of the packets buffered at ingress OBS nodes.

Design and Evaluation of a Burst Assembly Unit for Optical Burst Switching on a Network Processor [PDF]
Optical Burst Switching (OBS) has been proposed in the late 1990s as a novel photonic network architecture directed towards efficient transport of IP traffic. OBS aims at cost-efficient and dynamic provisioning of sub-wavelength granularity by optimally combining electronics and optics.
