To Burst or Not to Burst: Generating and Quantifying Improbable Text
While large language models (LLMs) are extremely capable at text generation, their outputs are still distinguishable from human-authored text. We explore this separation across many metrics over text, many sampling techniques, many types of text data, and across two popular LLMs, LLaMA and Vicuna.

Smart Antibacterial Coatings: Harnessing Bacterial Redox Activity for Infection Control
In this study, we have shown that ceftazidime‐loaded poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT@CAZ) functions as a smart, redox‐responsive antibacterial coating that couples bacterial electrical activity with localized antibiotic delivery. Shewanella oneidensis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa induced distinct redox responses in PEDOT, reflecting their ...

Synchronization of Bursting Pulse-Coupled Neurons in a Simulation Modeling Environment
Bursting is a special dynamic mode of neurons that consists of several consecutive spikes separated by a period of quiescence. This paper considers the synchronization of two non-identical neurons capable of both spiking and bursting behavior connected ...

Microfabrication of Soft Millirobots Propelled by Low Voltage Electrohydraulic Actuators
Manual layer‐by‐layer assembly is replaced by wafer‐level MEMS batch fabrication for compliant polymer‐based electrohydraulic actuators. The microfabricated devices integrate sacrificially defined microcavities, Parylene‐C‐sealed inlets, and multilayer polymer–metal films.

Superfluorescence is a cooperative emission process not scaling with sample volume. Amplified spontaneous emission is a collective process scaling with sample volume and is enhanced by waveguiding. Both manifest in a narrow emission peak. Choosing the right substrate suppresses waveguiding and demonstrates that the emission feature observed in PEA ...

Lifetime of a Single Bubble at Different Liquid Surfaces
Bubble bursting at liquid surfaces was investigated experimentally using high-speed imaging at 25,000 fps and micro-particle image velocimetry (µ-PIV) at up to 4000 flow fields per second. Three fluids with distinct rheological properties were studied: a

Tumbling Magnetic Microrobots for Targeted In Vivo Drug Delivery in the GI Tract
We introduce a microrobot design and integrated system for on‐demand targeted drug release in the gastrointestinal tract. The microrobot has an embedded magnet for actuation with external magnetic fields and is visualized in real time using ultrasound. It has two drug release ports sealed with a thermally sensitive wax. Local heating of the wax using a

`Bursting', defined as periods of high frequency firing of a neuron separated by periods of quiescence, has been observed in various neuronal systems, both \textit{in vitro} and \textit{in vivo}. It has been associated with a range of neuronal processes, including efficient information transfer and the formation of functional networks during ...
