Hopping on the methadone bus [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Health Economics, 2009
This paper investigates the impact of a 'free drug program' on the market equilibrium of drugs. We introduce a screening model of the hard drug market in which dealers use payment and punishment options to screen between high and low risk users. We show that, if a free drug program selects sufficiently many high-risk drug users, the pure-strategy ...

On Bus Schedules

Management Science, 1954
The equations used in the examples were formulated with the aid of a spiral diagram which represents the result of preliminary scheduling in so far as it assigns each bus to a definite route and indicates how the various branches are geared together.

The robotics bus: a local communications bus for robots

SPIE Proceedings, 2004
We address the development of a local bus architecture for robot systems that facilitates modular development, and increases the reliability of systems composed of heterogeneous sensors and actuators. The communications bus is based on Control Area Network (CAN), and supports distributed processing in physically separate nodes.

The Chicken Bus

Computer, 2011
As with all engineering problems, we need to balance the twin factors of stability and control and do so in a way that doesn't damage either of them. This article is also available through David Alan Grier's blog, The Known World (http://www.computer.org/theknownworld).

Bus-pin-aware bus-driven floorplanning

Proceedings of the 20th symposium on Great lakes symposium on VLSI, 2010
As the number of buses increase substantially in multi-core SoC designs, the bus planning problem has become the dominant factor in determining the performance and power consumption of SoC designs. To cope with the bus planning problem, it is desirable to consider this issue in early floorplanning stage.

To Bus or Not to Bus

1979
The Supreme Court in Swann drove the yellow school bus down the road of racial reform. And a bumpy journey it would prove to be. Why, one wonders, did the Court choose busing among all the alternatives available? Why, moreover, was that choice unanimous? Why, lastly, had several justices even swallowed their personal misgivings to join the opinion? For

R-Bus

Proceedings of the 10th International Conference on the Internet of Things, 2020
This paper presents R-Bus, a resource bus for modular system design, that overcomes the limitations of existing approaches with flexible device integration targeted for IoT system design. R-Bus provides a standard pluggable connection based on existing PCI-e x1 socket and connector, that allows up to 36 pins on a single bus enough to accommodate a ...

On the bus

Queensland Review, 2018
Election campaigns see a travelling press pack assembled to follow the party leader for the duration of the campaign, often to mystery locations. This ensures the press pack is conveniently ushered around to many picture opportunities where politicians can be observed in an organised and risk-free environment.
