Extending Battery Usage Time of a Heavy‐Duty Mecanum‐Wheeled Autonomous Electric Vehicle Used in Iron–Steel Industry by Considering Wheel Slippage

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
It is a fact that slippage causes tracking errors in both longitudinal and lateral directions which results to have less travel distance in tracking a reference trajectory. Less travel distance means having energy loss of the battery and carrying loads less than planned.

A JAG in La La Land [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
As the development of highways, it is quite normal for buses running in a speed around 100km/h. When buses are running in a high speed, they may suffer from the influence of side wind disturbances at anytime. Sometimes, it may result in traffic accidents.

Accurate and Anti‐Interference Control of Computer Vision‐Assisted Light‐Driven Liquid Crystal Elastomer Actuator

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
This article introduces a computer vision‐assisted control strategy for light‐driven liquid crystal elastomer actuators. Through negative feedback regulation, the liquid crystal elastomer actuator exhibits accurate and stable bending deformation in complex environments.

Bus Transit Operational Efficiency Resulting from Passenger Boardings at Park-and-Ride Facilities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In order to save time and money by not driving to an ultimate destination, some urban commuters drive themselves a few miles to specially designated parking lots built for transit customers and located where trains or buses stop.

The case of public transport infrastructure in Malta, and its impact on the elderly [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The concept of equity is essential in transport because inequities lead to the formation of transport-disadvantaged groups, such as the elderly, disabled and low-income people. This paper focuses on the elderly.

Review of Memristors for In‐Memory Computing and Spiking Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Memristors uniquely enable energy‐efficient, brain‐inspired computing by acting as both memory and synaptic elements. This review highlights their physical mechanisms, integration in crossbar arrays, and role in spiking neural networks. Key challenges, including variability, relaxation, and stochastic switching, are discussed, alongside emerging ...

The demand for local bus services in England [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
This paper examines the demand for local bus services in England. The study is based on a dynamic model relating per capita bus patronage to bus fares, income, and service level, and is estimated using a combination of time-series and cross-section ...

Structural problems without structural solutions? Youth leaders' perceptions of their community

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract As young people explore and reflect on the conditions of their neighborhoods and communities, they can forge a critical consciousness—merging their perspectives and analysis to direct both individual and collective actions. Photovoice is a methodological tool that allows participants to document their perspectives and analysis and discuss with

Bus Stop and Bus Terminal Capacity

open access: yesTransportation Research Procedia, 2016
AbstractStockholm is growing fast leading to an increased demand for public transport services and facilities. This has subsequently led to challenges to provide suitable bus terminals. The Municipalities are keen to provide good public transport but have difficulties providing the needed space. There is also a lack of knowledge in this problem area. A

Routing quantum information in spin chains [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Two different models for performing efficiently routing of a quantum state are presented. Both cases involve an XX spin chain working as data bus and additional spins that play the role of sender and receivers, one of which is selected to be the target ...
