Journal of Information Processing and Management, 1985 東芝情報センターは, 社内の情報サービス機能を統合し, 一元管理することによって全社共通のビジネス情報(社外資料および社内資料)を収集し, 分散処理コンピュータや画像情報ファイル装置などのOA機器を導入して, 資料の保管, 貸出・返却, レファレンスなどの社内情報サービスを行っている。保管資料は, ディスプレイ装置を用いてのLAN経由オンライン検索により, キーワード, 標題, 著者名などの組み合わせ検索ができる。増大する資料のコピー要求に対しては画像情報ファイル装置を用意している。本稿では, 情報センターの設立の目的, 設備, 運営組織を説明し, ファイルの体系化, 情報サービス各システムの現状と計画などについて紹介した。
