Millimeter-Wave Highly Efficient E-Plane Ridge Gap Waveguide Butler Matrix for Wide-Angle Endfire Multibeam Antenna Applications

IEEE transactions on microwave theory and techniques
In this article, a novel millimeter-wave highly efficient E-plane ridge gap waveguide (RGW) $4\times 4$ Butler matrix (BM) is proposed. It is the first time that the E-plane BM has been realized utilizing the RGW technology, which can promote the 3-D ...

Dual butler matrix active antenna system

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2007
AbstractThis article describes a smart antenna system that employs low noise amplifiers and two cascaded Butler Matrices. The output signals from the first Butler Matrix, which acts as a beamforming network, have high gain and narrowbeam width for long distance communication while the outputs from the second Butler Matrix, which acts as a mirror of the

3-D-Printed Ultracompact Butler Matrix for Wideband Millimeter-Wave Beamforming

IEEE transactions on microwave theory and techniques
An ultracompact 3-D-printed Butler matrix (BM) for wideband millimeter-wave (mm-wave) beamforming is proposed in this article. This is the first time that conductive and dielectric multimaterial 3-D printing technology is applied to realize a 3-D mm-wave

Folded C-Type SIW Butler Matrix

2019 IEEE MTT-S International Wireless Symposium (IWS), 2019
This work presents a novel miniaturized 4×4 Butler Matrix (BM) base on Folded C-Type substrate integrated waveguide (FCSIW), operating from 28 to 32GHz. In theory, the size of FCSIW can be reduced by nearly 50% compared with the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) with similar propagation and cut-off characteristics.

Design and Extension of Modified Butler Matrix Based on Three-Way Directional Coupler and Its Multibeam Application

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems - II - Express Briefs, 2023
A new topology of modified Butler matrix (BM) based on three-way directional coupler (TWDC) is proposed in this brief. The two TWDCs are regarded as two submatrices, by alternately arranging the output ports of the two submatrices and introducing a front
