Open Reduction Internal Fixation of Distal Clavicle Fracture With Supplementary Button Coracoclavicular Fixation

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2014
Distal clavicle fractures are common, and no standard treatment exists. Many different surgical modalities exist. This report describes an open reduction internal fixation technique that achieves both plate and coracoclavicular stabilization using a ...

Prediction Model of Drilling Performance for Percussive Rock Drilling Tool

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2020
This study suggests a method for quantitatively estimating the drilling performance of the down-the-hole (DTH) hammer during percussive drilling of rock surfaces. A pneumatic dynamic model of the DTH hammer was developed that considers the mass flow rate

Xtoys: cellular automata on xwindows [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Xtoys is a collection of xwindow programs for demonstrating simulations of various statistical models. Included are xising, for the two dimensional Ising model, xpotts, for the $q$-state Potts model, xautomalab, for a fairly general class of totalistic ...

Drilling Processes with Hydraulic Percussion Rock Drills

open access: yesJournal of MMIJ, 2017
Rock drills were developed about two hundred years ago, and hydraulic percussion rock drills are about half-century old. Performance and efficiency of rock drills have been increased by a number of researchers and engineers.

Learning Action Models: Qualitative Approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In dynamic epistemic logic, actions are described using action models. In this paper we introduce a framework for studying learnability of action models from observations. We present first results concerning propositional action models.

Penetration Test with Worn Button Bits for Rock Drilling.

open access: yesShigen-to-Sozai, 1997
Right now button bits are widely used in rock drilling. Considerable effort has been expended by manufactures to increase performance and durability of the button bits. However, most of them were conducted on try and error basis mainly because high level acceleration and vibration in rock drilling prevented accurate sensing and fundamental data ...

Force-penetration curves of a button bit generated during impact penetration into rock

open access: yesInternational Journal of Impact Engineering, 2015
Abstract To improve the performance and efficiency of percussion rock drills, it is essential to understand the impact penetration behavior of a bit drilling into rock. However, little knowledge to date has been published about the penetration behavior of the button bit, which is commonly used for hard rock.

Surgical Management of Proximal Tibiofibular Joint Instability Using an Adjustable Loop, Cortical Fixation Device

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, 2018
A technique for proximal tibiofibular joint stabilization using an adjustable loop, cortical fixation device is presented. A standard diagnostic arthroscopy is performed to exclude intra-articular pathology.

Is my configuration any good: checking usability in an interactive sensor-based activity monitor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate formal analysis of two aspects of usability in a deployed interactive, configurable and context-aware system: an event-driven, sensor-based homecare activity monitor system.

Force-Penetration Curves with a Button Bit in the Percussive Drilling

open access: yesJournal of MMIJ, 2010
A force-penetration relationship is considered to be closely related to the deformation and fracture mechanism at the bit-rock interface. In this study, a testing machine in which a piston, a rod or a bit can be easily changed was developed for laboratory impact-penetration test simulating the in-situ percussive drilling.
