Microscopy and FTIR investigations of the thermal gelation of methylcellulose in glycols

open access: yes, 2017
Methylcellulose is a well-known polymer due to its reverse thermal gel formation property in aqueous solutions. Support materials play an important role in the additive manufacturing of three dimensional parts using processes that utilise inkjet ...

The microbial degradation of polyethylene glycols [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The work described in this thesis was undertaken to elucidate the metabolic pathways by which oligo- and polymeric glycols are degraded by micro organisms. From a variety of microorganisms isolated by elective culture on minimal medium containing either

Isothermal Crystallization Kinetics and Crystalline Morphologies of Poly(butylene adipate-co-butylene 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylate) Copolymers

open access: yes, 2018
In this study, the isothermal crystallization kinetics and crystalline morphology of poly(butylene adipate-co-butylene 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylate) (PBAC), which refers to a copolyester containing a non-planar ring structure, were investigated by ...

Adsorption of Fibrinogen and Fibronectin on Elastomeric Poly(butylene Succinate) Copolyesters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Proteins adsorbed onto biomaterial surfaces facilitate cell-material interactions, including adhesion and migration. Of particular importance are provisional matrix components, fibrinogen (Fg) and fibronectin (Fn), which play an important role in the ...

Unsaturated biobased polyesters from bicyclic α‐pinene‐based diols

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
We present the synthesis of four biosourced unsaturated polyesters made from chiral terpene‐based diols and esters of renewable diacids. The resulting materials harbor a bicyclic pinene ring in their backbones which leads to enhanced thermal properties while still conferring susceptibility to enzyme hydrolysis for chains having a cis alkene.

Copolymer Synthesis of N‐Vinylacetamide and 2‐Methylene‐1,3‐Dioxepane Provides a New Degradable Polymer

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, Volume 63, Issue 6, Page 1306-1318, 15 March 2025.
ABSTRACT N‐vinylamides, especially noncyclic N‐vinylacetamide (NVA), have been used in various applications such as biomaterials, surfactants, and hydrogels. However, their potential to copolymerize with cyclic ketene acetal (CKA) to create degradable polymers is underexplored.

The Soret effect of mono-, di- and tri-glycols in ethanol [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We employed thermal diffusion forced Rayleigh scattering (TDFRS) to investigate the chain length dependence of the thermal diffusion behavior of short glycols in ethanol.

Current Trends and Future Prospects of Integrating Electrospinning With 3D Printing Techniques for Mimicking Bone Extracellular Matrix Scaffolds

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, Volume 63, Issue 6, Page 1481-1504, 15 March 2025.
ABSTRACT This article presents a review of the recent findings on the combination of electrospun nanofibers and three‐dimensional (3D)‐printed structures for extracellular matrix (ECM) scaffolds for bone tissue engineering. We explore the synergy between electrospinning (ES), which produces highly porous, fibrous structures from materials like collagen
