Post‐Occlusion Application of Skin Protective Creams Does Not Affect Occlusion‐Induced Barrier Changes: A Randomized Controlled Experimental Study

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, Volume 95, Issue 5, Page 437-449, November 2026.
Post‐occlusion application of protective creams did not consistently reduce occlusion‐induced skin barrier impairment after glove use. Protective efficacy probably depends on formulation and timing, with only immediate pre‐irritant application showing a significant reduction in SLS‐induced barrier disruption.

Chemical Upcycling of Poly(Lactic Acid) Waste Into Lactyl‐Based Diols for the Synthesis of New Polyesters

open access: yesChemPlusChem, Volume 91, Issue 10, October 2026.
We report a green one‐pot synthesis of novel polyesters from postconsumer PLA, diols, and adipic acid derived from renewables, using a cheap, easy‐to‐make titanium‐based catalyst. The development of efficient catalytic strategies for the chemical recycling and upcycling of poly(lactic acid) (PLA) is of great importance for advancing sustainable polymer

Investigation of fiber/matrix adhesion: test speed and specimen shape effects in the cylinder test [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The cylinder test, developed from the microdroplet test, was adapted to assess the interfacial adhesion strength between fiber and matrix. The sensitivity of cylinder test to pull-out speed and specimen geometry was measured.
