Individually rational buyback contracts with inventory level dependent demand

International Journal of Production Economics, 2013
Abstract In this paper, we consider a supply chain coordination problem when demand faced by a retailer is influenced by the amount of inventory displayed on the retail shelf. We assume that shelf space inventory is used as one of the levers to stimulate demand.

Structural Properties of Buyback Contracts for Price-Setting Newsvendors

Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, 2008
This paper studies a buyback contract in the Stackelberg framework of a manufacturer (leader) selling to a price-setting newsvendor retailer (follower). Using an analytical model that focuses on a multiplicative demand form, we generalize previous results and produce new structural insights.

Collaborative Forecasting For an Optimal Capacity through Buyback Contract

Logistics, 2009
Collaborative forecasting is a process where supply chain members jointly develop a single forecast of end-product demand. This paper considers a decentralized two-stage supply chain with a retailer that faces random demand for her end product and a supplier that is the sole source for the end product.

On oil investment and production: A comparison of production sharing contracts and buyback contracts

Energy Economics, 2014
Abstract Production sharing contracts (PSCs) and buyback contracts are two important contract modes in the upstream oil industry. In this paper, we build a theoretical model to compare investment and production levels under these two contracts. Our model results show that PSCs lead to higher investment levels than buyback contracts.

Demand level judgment under buyback contract: Effects of newsvendor behavior

2016 International Conference on Logistics, Informatics and Service Sciences (LISS), 2016
Judging demand change when demand shifts from one level to another usually relies on the decision makers' intuition, which involves behavior factors and would lead to decision biases in inventory decision making. To cope with the biases of demand level judgment in supply chains under buyback contracts, this paper studies how do two behavior factors, i ...

Supply Chain Coordination under Buyback Contract with Multiple Newsvendors

2012
For two stage supply chain with multiple competing newsvendors which faces stochastic market demand, the coordination may be broken off by intervention events. Using buyback contract, the impact of demand disruptions upon the supply chain coordination is studied.

Three-echelon supply chain coordination model based on option-buyback contract

2011 International Conference on E-Business and E-Government (ICEE), 2011
This paper focuses on three-echelon supply chain model under price-dependent demand. It introduces flexible price function and inventory fact number. The model is individually coordinated by option-buyback contract. The paper is an attempt to consummate the theory of supply chain coordination by contract, and provides a path to improve the total profit

Research on supply chain option buyback contract based on capital gains

The 27th Chinese Control and Decision Conference (2015 CCDC), 2015
This article introduces option thinking in supply chain buyback contract and studies on how capital gains influence the supply chain operational decision making and system profits. With the aid of Lagrange's equation, it proves that only when executed price of option falls in some range that the expected profit of the retailer is the united concave ...
