Methods and strategies for the detection of bovines persistently infected by the Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (BVDV) [PDF]

Eighty calf blood samples were collected from different areas of China and were examined. Sixteen non cytopathic isolates of bovine viral diarrhea virus genotype 2 (BVDV-2) were isolated by specific BVDV-2-directed RT-PCR and sandwich ELISA. The results were verified by the indirect immunofluorescence assay and the ultra-thin sections. Genes of 5'-UTR,

A CACNA2D2‐Related Recessive Form of Cerebellar Abiotrophy in Angus Cattle
ABSTRACT Cerebellar disease in ruminants is often virus‐induced and non‐genetic, but there are also rare inherited forms of cerebellar hypoplasia and cerebellar abiotrophy (CA). So far, no causal variant has been reported for these conditions in cattle. Two inbred Angus calves suspected of having cerebellar disease were reported in Scotland.

Multivariate analysis reveals that BVDV field isolates do not show a close VN-based antigenic relationship to US vaccine strains [PDF]
Objective Evaluate bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) antigenicity by using virus neutralization titers (VNT) analyzed using the principal component analysis (PCA) from antisera generated against US-based vaccine strains against both US-origin field ...
