Journal of Biotechnology and Biodiversity, 2021 Murici as it is popularly called Byrsonima verbascifolia, is a typical fruit of the Brazilian Cerrado. This study aimed to survey, through review, the conservation, chemical, phytotherapeutic, bioactive and food characteristics of this peculiar species that is easily found in the most varied phytophysiognomies in the Cerrado domain in Brazil.
