Comparison of genotypic and phenotypic selection of breeding parents in a carrot (Daucus carota) germplasm collection

open access: yesCrop Science, Volume 63, Issue 4, Page 1998-2011, July/August 2023., 2023
Abstract In this study, we developed and evaluated genomic prediction strategies to identify valuable breeding material in crop germplasm collections, using ongoing efforts to breed carrot varieties with tall canopies and mild flavor as a model vegetable crop and breeding goal.

Modeling adult COX‐2 cerebrospinal fluid pharmacokinetics to inform pediatric investigation

open access: yesPediatric Anesthesia, Volume 33, Issue 4, Page 291-302, April 2023., 2023
Abstract Aim Hysteresis is reported between plasma concentration and analgesic effect from nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs. It is possible that the temporal delay between plasma and CSF nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs mirrors this hysteresis.

Careyarboside A: A New Flavan‐3‐ol Glycoside from the Stems of Careya arborea (Lecythidaceae)

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
A new flavan‐3‐ol glycoside, compound 1 (careyarboside A), was isolated from the ethanol extract of the stems of Careya arborea, together with six known compounds. Of these, three phenolic glycosides (leonuriside A, picraquassioside D, and careyarboside B) have never been previously isolated from genus Careya and family Lecythidaceae.

A population PK–PD model of YH4808, a novel P‐CAB, and intragastric pH that incorporated negative feedback by increased intragastric pH onto the systemic exposure to YH4808

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 11, Issue 9, Page 1223-1233, September 2022., 2022
Abstract YH4808 is a novel potassium‐competitive acid blocker that is under clinical development to treat patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease and peptic ulcer diseases. In this study, the pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) profiles of YH4808 were modeled in healthy male volunteers who received a single oral dose of YH4808 at 30, 50,

Fostering ocean empathy through future scenarios

open access: yesPeople and Nature, Volume 3, Issue 6, Page 1284-1296, December 2021., 2021
Abstract Empathy for nature is considered a prerequisite for sustainable interactions with the biosphere. Yet to date, empirical research on how to stimulate empathy remains scarce. Here, we investigate whether future scenarios can promote greater empathy for the oceans. Using a pre‐post empathy questionnaire, participants (N = 269) were presented with

Transgenic LQT2, LQT5, and LQT2‐5 rabbit models with decreased repolarisation reserve for prediction of drug‐induced ventricular arrhythmias

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 177, Issue 16, Page 3744-3759, August 2020., 2020
Background and Purpose Reliable prediction of pro‐arrhythmic side effects of novel drug candidates is still a major challenge. Although drug‐induced pro‐arrhythmia occurs primarily in patients with pre‐existing repolarisation disturbances, healthy animals are employed for pro‐arrhythmia testing.
