Vertebrate diversity and biomass along a recovery gradient in a lowland tropical forest
Biotropica, Volume 57, Issue 1, January 2025.Deforestation of tropical forests has resulted in large areas of secondary forests with the potential for biodiversity to re‐establish to levels usually found in old‐growth forests. This study shows that diversity and biomass of mammals and birds in regenerating forests can recover to old‐growth levels within a relatively short time.

Biotropica, Volume 56, Issue 3, May 2024.On an island system with reduced guilds, capuchin monkeys exhibit high levels of terrestriality and localized tool use, which may have consequences for sympatric species with shared diets. Here we used camera traps to assess the degree of spatio‐temporal overlap between capuchins and agoutis at a site with predators and two islands with reduced guilds.
