Risk of Developing Subsequent Primary Colorectal Cancers Among Non‐Colorectal Cancer Survivors: Implications for Prevention and Screening

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cancer survivors have an elevated risk of developing subsequent primary cancers, including colorectal cancer (CRC), and may benefit from tailored screening approaches to reduce incidence and morbidity. A retrospective cohort of adults diagnosed with cancer (excluding CRC) in Alberta, Canada from 2000 to 2021 who survived at least 6 months was ...

Assessment of Cancer‐Related Cognitive Impairments Across Anti‐Cancer Therapies in a Predominantly Breast Cancer Cohort

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cancer survivors frequently experience cancer‐related cognitive impairment (CRCI), but the contributions of different anti‐cancer therapies remain unclear. Patients with breast or gynaecological cancer were recruited before any anti‐cancer treatment.

The mitochondrial DNA copy number and ovary‐related reproductive disorders: A bidirectional two‐sample Mendelian randomization study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 169, Issue 1, Page 112-120, April 2025.
Abstract Objective In the present study, a bidirectional two‐sample Mendelian randomization approach was utilized to explore potential causal relationships between mitochondrial DNA copy number (mtDNA‐CN) and ovary‐related reproductive disorders (ORRDs), including ovarian dysfunction, ovarian cyst, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), premature ovarian ...

The importance of gene polymorphism in familial inheritance of endometriosis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective The study aimed to investigate familial transmission patterns in women with endometriosis by generating a customized single‐nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) array. Methods Patients aged 18–45 who were diagnosed histopathologically with endometriosis were included in the study.

Preoperative and postoperative pathology concordance in endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia: A retrospective cohort study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To assess the concordance between pre‐ and postoperative pathology in patients with endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia (EIN) undergoing hysterectomy, and identify predictors of malignancy, including sampling method, progestin therapy, and surgical timing.

Efficacy and related factors of levonorgestrel‐releasing intrauterine system combined with metformin in fertility‐preserving treatment for atypical endometrial hyperplasia and early endometrial cancer: A retrospective cohort study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To compare the efficacy of the levonorgestrel‐releasing intrauterine system combined with metformin versus oral progestin combined with metformin in fertility‐preserving treatment for patients with atypical endometrial hyperplasia and early endometrial cancer, and to analyze related factors affecting efficacy.

α2,3‐Sialyltransferase (ST3Gal1) regulates endometrioid‐type epithelial ovarian cancer cell migration and invasion via VEGF‐R2/JAK2/STAT3 signaling cascades

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To investigate the role of ST3 β‐galactoside α‐2,3‐sialyltransferase 1 (ST3Gal1) and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGF‐R2) in endometrioid‐type epithelial ovarian cancer (E‐OC) because aberrant α2,3‐sialylation mediated by ST3Gal1 and VEGF‐R2‐related angiogenesis is linked with tumor progression. Methods ST3Gal1 and

Impact of ovarian preservation on survival for premenopausal women with early‐stage endometrial carcinoma: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Up to 14% of women with early‐stage endometrial carcinoma (EEC) are diagnosed before menopause. Although ovarian preservation (OP) within surgical staging might avoid surgical menopause, its rate remains low in clinical practice, probably because the impact of OP on survival outcomes is unclear.

Surgically confirmed severe endometriosis is associated with lower risk of steatotic liver disease: Evidence of estrogen‐linked hepatic–reproductive crosstalk

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Severe surgically confirmed endometriosis was associated with a lower prevalence of steatotic liver disease than non‐severe disease. Higher estradiol levels may partly explain this inverse hepatic–reproductive association, supporting integrated gynecologic and hepatologic risk assessment.
