Effects of soil and canopy characteristics on microwave backscattering of vegetation [PDF]
A frequency modulated continuous wave C-band (4.8 GHz) scatterometer was mounted on an aerial lift truck and backscatter coefficients of corn were acquired as functions of polarizations, view angles, and row directions.

Classification of ice crystals at C-band [PDF]
Clouds consist of water particles (hydrometeors) in different aggregate states. Above the melting layer these hydrometeors are formed mainly as ice crystals and other completely or partly frozen particles.

Nonuniform C-Band Loop Antenna
Antenna design becomes very difficult at very small wavelengths and a special lab is required to manufacture a small antenna which costs a lot. A new approach is proposed to enhance the bandwidth of the loop antenna which can be designed at very high frequency using conventional PCB design technique. The proposed antenna is a nonuniform loop and covers

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Spatial distribution and broad-band spectral characteristics of the diffuse X-ray background, 0.1 - 1.0 keV [PDF]
Preliminary maps covering more than 85 percent of the sky are presented for three energy bands: the B band, the C band, and the M band. The study was undertaken to find evidence that most of the diffuse X-ray background at energies less than 1 keV is ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox
