Assessment of endodontic treatment of c-shaped root canals
This communication presents the treatment of 15 cases of c-shaped canals in molars and their treatment outcome with two different obturation methods. The data from 901 patients who received root canal treatment in a molar tooth were examined regarding c-shaped root canals, their treatment and their status one year post op.

The C-shaped root canal system is an aberration of the root canal system in which a characteristic fin or web connects individual canals, resulting in a C-shaped cross section. This configuration has been rarely reported in the mandibular second premolar.

Root canal treatment of a two-rooted C-shaped maxillary first molar: a case report. [PDF]
The most difficult maxillary teeth for endodontic treatment are the maxillary first molars (MFM) due to their complex root canal anatomy. The presence of two roots and C-shaped canals in MFMs has been reported in rare cases. The present case reports root canal treatment of MFM with two roots, where the palatal and buccal roots were joined together in a

A maxillary first molar should be considered a four-canal tooth until proved otherwise; however, a clinician should also be aware of the possibility of the presence of C-shaped root canal configuration with or without possibility of splitting into two or

Analysis of Cause of Endodontic Failure of C-Shaped Root Canals
The purpose of this study was to analyze various characteristics and classification of C-shaped root canals and evaluate the causes of endodontic failure of C-shaped root canals by examining the resected root surface with an endodontic microscope and a scanning electron microscope (SEM).

C shaped canal: Variation and Recommendations
Root canal morphology is not uniform, variations of root canals are routinely encountered by endodontists making the root canal treatment more challenging. C shaped canal is a variation commonly encountered in mandibular second molars.

While the prevalence of C-shaped canals is low in many parts of the world, the incidence may be high in specific countries and ethnic populations. One of the contributing factors that masks more detailed information on this anatomical variation is the difficulty in using periapical radiographs alone to determine its presence.
