Elastic Properties of Titan Tholins Revealed by Brillouin Spectroscopy
Abstract Titan tholins, complex organic solids synthesized by simulating photochemical processes in Titan's atmosphere, are widely regarded as analogs to organic surface materials on the Saturnian moon. Their mechanical properties are critical for understanding the evolution of Titan's geomorphology and crustal layering.

Passive sorting of asteroid material using solar radiation pressure [PDF]
Understanding dust dynamics in the vicinity of asteroids is key for future science missions and, in the long-term, for asteroid exploitation. This paper analyses the feasibility of manipulating asteroid material by means of solar radiation pressure.

Abstract Hardware released during spacecraft entry can generate hypervelocity impacts that provide unique constraints on planetary subsurface properties. During NASA's Perseverance descent, two tungsten cruise ballast mass devices (CBMD) and fragments of the cruise stage formed meter‐scale craters north‐west of Jezero crater, in one of the sinuous ...

Experimental characterization of the thrust induced by laser ablation on an asteroid [PDF]
This paper presents an improved laser ablation model and compares the performance – Δv and mass efficiency - of laser ablation against contactless deflection methods based on ion-propulsion.

Red spectral slopes (i.e. increasing reflectance with increasing wavelength) and featureless 0.5–2.5 μ m spectra are often associated with the presence of organic material, and there is a sense that the redder the slope, the more organic material is ...

Photometric Observations and Analysis of Active Asteroid (62412) 2000 SY178
The active asteroid (62412) 2000 SY178 is a C-type object located in the outer main belt and was first reported to exhibit a dust tail in 2014 May. Before and after its recent perihelion, we carried out long-term observations of 2000 SY178 with the ...

Spitzer Observations of the Koronis Asteroid Family: Probing Size-dependent Surface Evolution
The Koronis family is an ideal case study, as its members share a common formation age and composition. This enables investigation of how surface properties vary with asteroid size, independent of shared family age.
