Boosting thermoelectric efficiency using time-dependent control

open access: yes, 2015
Thermoelectric efficiency is defined as the ratio of power delivered to the load of a device to the rate of heat flow from the source. Till date, it has been studied in presence of thermodynamic constraints set by the Onsager reciprocal relation and the ...

Renormalization in periodically driven quantum dots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We report on strong renormalization encountered in periodically driven interacting quantum dots in the non-adiabatic regime. Correlations between lead and dot electrons enhance or suppress the amplitude of driving depending on the sign of the interaction.

JET machine operations in T&D-T

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
JET, the world’s largest operating tokamak with unique Be/W wall and tritium handling capability, completed a Deuterium-Tritium (D-T) campaign in 2021 (Maggi et al 29th Fusion Energy Conf.

Overview of T and D–T results in JET with ITER-like wall

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
In 2021 JET exploited its unique capabilities to operate with T and D–T fuel with an ITER-like Be/W wall (JET-ILW). This second major JET D–T campaign (DTE2), after DTE1 in 1997, represented the culmination of a series of JET enhancements—new fusion ...

Nanomagnet coupled to quantum spin Hall edge: An adiabatic quantum motor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The precessing magnetization of a magnetic islands coupled to a quantum spin Hall edge pumps charge along the edge. Conversely, a bias voltage applied to the edge makes the magnetization precess.

Transport in coupled graphene-nanotube quantum devices

open access: yes, 2012
We report on the fabrication and characterization of all-carbon hybrid quantum devices based on graphene and single-walled carbon nanotubes. We discuss both, carbon nanotube quantum dot devices with graphene charge detectors and nanotube quantum dots ...
