Total Synthesis of Dactyloquinone A and Spiroetherone A via a Metal-Hydride Hydrogen Atom Transfer (MHAT) Process and a Quinol-Enedione Rearrangement. [PDF]

open access: yesAngew Chem Int Ed Engl
Total syntheses of the meroterpenoid quinones dactyloquinone A and spiroetherone A were achieved from a common intermediate through the following original key steps: a metal‐hydride hydrogen atom transfer (MHAT) process with a quinone monoacetal in the case of dactyloquinone A, and a quinol–enedione rearrangement in the case of spiroetherone A ...

Diverse and mobile: eccDNA-based identification of carrot low-copy-number LTR retrotransposons active in callus cultures. [PDF]

open access: yesPlant J, 2022
SUMMARY Long terminal repeat retrotransposons (LTR‐RTs) are mobilized via an RNA intermediate using a ‘copy and paste’ mechanism, and account for the majority of repetitive DNA in plant genomes. As a side effect of mobilization, the formation of LTR‐RT‐derived extrachromosomal circular DNAs (eccDNAs) occurs.

Secondary metabolites from plant-associated Pseudomonas are overproduced in biofilm. [PDF]

open access: yesMicrob Biotechnol, 2020
Pseudomonas strains overproduce a higher diversity of secondary metabolites in biofilm colony than in planktonic lifestyle. In particular, the biosynthesis of key compounds implicated in bacterial biotic interactions like AHLs or phenazines are strongly enhanced in biofilms.

HadBD dehydratase from Mycobacterium tuberculosis fatty acid synthase type II: A singular structure for a unique function. [PDF]

open access: yesProtein Sci
Abstract Worldwide, tuberculosis is the second leading infectious killer and multidrug resistance severely hampers disease control. Mycolic acids are a unique category of lipids that are essential for viability, virulence, and persistence of the causative agent, Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb).

5‐Hydroxymethylfurfural and Furfural Chemistry Toward Biobased Surfactants

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 15, Issue 13, July 7, 2022., 2022
Sustainable surfactants: Furanic platform molecules can lead to novel biobased surfactants with original molecular design. In this Review, synthetic strategies from of 5‐hydroxymethylfurfural, furfural, and furan leading to anionic, cationic, amphoteric, and non‐ionic amphiphiles are highlighted.

Essential Oils in Stored Product Insect Pest Control

open access: yesJournal of Food Quality, Volume 2018, Issue 1, 2018., 2018
Among botanical extracts used as insecticides, essential oils (EOs) are promising alternatives to chemical insecticides. EOs are synthesized by plants, and they play a key role in plant signaling processes including also attractiveness toward pollinators and beneficial insects.

Job Market Competency Requirements for Accounting Professionals: A Comparative Analysis of Online Job Ads from SMEs and Large Enterprises*

open access: yesAccounting Perspectives, Volume 24, Issue 2, Page 343-391, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Compared to large enterprises (LEs), small and medium‐sized enterprises (SMEs) have unique characteristics that may affect their needs in several areas. Thus, the “one‐size‐fits‐all” approach to meeting the needs of both groups of enterprises would be inappropriate in different circumstances.

A Promising Approach to Target Colorectal Cancer Using Hybrid Triarylmethanes

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 19, Issue 21, November 4, 2024.
Exploration of novel anti‐colorectal cancer agents: This study focuses on hybrid triarylmethane compounds and their N‐oxide analogues. Pyridine N‐oxide hybrids showed significant antiproliferative activity on HT‐29 and HCT116 cell lines, with IC50 values between 18 and 24 μM.
