Effects of the variation of fundamental constants on Pop III stellar evolution

open access: yes, 2009
A variation of the fundamental constants is expected to affect the thermonuclear rates important for stellar nucleosynthesis. In particular, because of the very small resonant energies of Be8 and C12, the triple $\alpha$ process is extremely sensitive to

Degradable Donor‐Acceptor Polymeric Mixed Ionic‐Electronic Conductors for Transient Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Here, we report degradable donor–acceptor (D–A) polymeric mixed ionic‐electronic conductors for transient electronics. We take a systematic side chain engineering approach to elucidate how molecular‐level modifications of donor–acceptor (D–A) polymer structures can satisfy demands that are often conflicting: degradability, charge carrier transport, and

Фотообразование ?--мезонов на углероде C12 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
Измерены интегральные сечения реакции ?+С12>?-+N12 в тормозном пучке Томского синхротрона. Методика основана на измерении ?+-активности остаточных ядер N12 в промежутках между импульсами излучения ускорителя.

Electroluminescence and Franz–Keldysh Modulation Observed in Sn/Ge Multi‐Quantum Wells

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
We investigate the optoelectronic properties of PIN diodes based on ultrathin α‐Sn/Ge multiple quantum film structures, fabricated by molecular beam epitaxy, both experimentally and theoretically. The samples exhibit a light emission spectrum in the short‐wavelength infrared range with two transitions. Furthermore, when operating as a photodetector, we

Structure of Equilenin at 100 K: an estrone-related steroid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The structure of the estrone-related steroid, Equilenin, C18H18O2 (systematic name 3-hy-droxy-13-methyl-11,12,13,14,15,16-hexa-hydro-cyclo-penta-[a]phen-anthren-17-one), has been determined at 100 K.

ROS Activated NETosis of Bone Marrow CD55+ Intermediate Mature Neutrophils Through HIF1α‐PADI4 Pathway to Initiate Bone Aging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we find CD55+ neutrophils show activated NETosis within bone marrow, induce BMSC senescence and osteogenesis inhibition, finally leading to bone aging initiation. Mechanistically, ROS synergizes with the CD55‐driven HIF1α‐PADI4 pathway to promote NETosis.

Alkyltriphenylphosphonium Binding to Cardiolipin Triggers Oncosis in Cancer Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Alkyltriphenylphosphonium, exemplified by TPP+‐C14, preferentially accumulates in mitochondria and selectively binds to cardiolipin, a key phospholipid of the inner mitochondrial membrane, causing loss of mitochondrial membrane potential, severe cellular ATP depletion, and calcium imbalance.

Effect of Dehydroaltenusin-C12 Derivative, a Selective DNA Polymerase α Inhibitor, on DNA Replication in Cultured Cells

open access: yesMolecules, 2008
Dehydroaltenusin is a selective inhibitor of mammalian DNA polymerase α (pol α) from a fungus (Alternaria tennuis). We have designed, synthesized, and characterized a derivative of dehydroaltenusin conjugated with a C12-alkyl side chain ...
