Surface discharge propagation in C4F7N/CO2 mixture under positive impulse voltages [PDF]
C4F7N/CO2 is a promising mixture to replace SF6 in an electrical insulation field for its environment friendly property. Understanding surface discharge behaviors of the C4F7N/CO2 mixture is essential for designing an effective insulation system. In this work, surface discharge propagation characteristics in the C4F7N/CO2 mixture under positive impulse

Clarifications on the behavior of alternative gases to SF6 in divergent electric field distributions under AC voltage [PDF]
Negative and positive partial discharge inception voltages and breakdown measurements are reported in a needle-plane electrode system as a function of pressure under AC voltage for natural gases (N2, CO2, and O2/CO2), pure NovecTM gases (C4F7N and C5F10O)

AC volume breakdown and surface flashover of a 4% NovecTM 4710/96% CO2 gas mixture compared to CO2 in highly nonhomogeneous fields [PDF]
AC pre-discharge currents, breakdown, and flashover voltage measurements are reported in a 10 mm needle-plane arrangement in a 4% NovecTM 4710/96% CO2 gas mixture and compared with CO2 for pressures up to 8.8 bar abs.

Surface flashover in 50 years: Theoretical models and competing mechanisms
Abstract Surface flashover is a devastating electronic avalanche along the gas–solid interface when a high electric field is applied, which is a potential issue that threatens the safe operations of advanced power electronic, electrical, and spacecraft applications. However, the underlying physical mechanisms for surface flashover development are still

Study on Arc Extinguishing Performance of DC C4F7N/CO2 Mixed Gas
Abstract The arc characteristic analysis of C4F7N/CO2, CO2 and SF6 gases with volume fraction of 10%C4F7N-90% under DC condition is studied. Firstly, based on the internal physical process of arc, a two-dimensional axisymmetric arc model of C4F7N/CO2, CO2 and SF6 gas was established and calculated.
