Trifluoromethyl derivatives of fullerene C70, C70(CF3)2, C70(CF3)8 and C70(CF3)14

Mendeleev Communications, 2009
The reaction of C70 with higher C70(CF3)n or annealing of the latter followed by HPLC separation of reaction products resulted in an isolation of C70(CF3)2, C70(CF3)8 and C70(CF3)14. X-ray diffraction study revealed molecular structure of the three isomers that are compared with other known C70(CF3)n derivatives.

Electronic spectra of the C70 molecule and C70+, C70− ions in neon matrices

Chemical Physics Letters, 1993
Abstract The long-wavelength part of the electronic absorption spectrum of C 70 isolated in a 5 K neon matrix was observed with well-resolved vibrational structure. Its origin lines at 15690 cm −1 . The electronic transitions of C 70 + and C 70 − were detected after Ne I irradiation of C 70 during deposition.

Synthesis and molecular structure of pentafluoroethyl derivatives of C70: C70(C2F5)8 and C70(C2F5)10

Dalton Transactions, 2009
An isomeric mixture of C70(C2F5)10 has been synthesized by a high temperature reaction of C70 with C2F5I in a glass ampoule followed by HPLC separation. Partial thermal decomposition of C70(C2F5)10 has been performed to yield a complex mixture of lower derivatives.

C70 fulleryl radicals

Journal of the Chemical Society, Chemical Communications, 1994
The C70 fullerene molecule has five distinct addition sites; all five possible C70Mu isomers (Mu muonium, the light isotope of hydrogen) are observed for the first time by muon spectroscopy.

Biocompatibility and biological activity of C70 fullerene adduct with L-threonine (C70(C4H9NO3)2)

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2022
The aim of this work is to synthesise and study the biocompatibility and biological activity of the C70 fullerene adduct with l-threonine (C70-Thr). The obtained adduct was identified using a complex of physicochemical methods, namely, 13C NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, electron spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and high-

Mechanisms of the rotational dynamics of C70 in C70-cubane heteromolecular crystals

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2011
Fullerenes and cubane (C8H8) can be arranged to form heteromolecular crystals that exhibit interesting crystal phases. Experimental measurements indicate a rotor-stator phase for C60-cubane crystals in which the C60 molecules rotate freely whereas cubane molecules are essentially static.

Synthesis and structure of cycloperfluoroalkylated derivatives of C70, C70(C2F4) and C70(C4F8)n, n = 1–6

New Journal of Chemistry, 2010
The addition reactions of biradicals thermally generated from 1,2-C2F4I2 or 1,4-C4F8I2 were applied to functionalize C70 fullerene. The mixtures of C70(C2F4)m and C70(C4F8)n products were separated by HPLC resulting in several individual compounds. Molecular structures of new cycloperfluoroalkylated C70, C70(C2F4), C70(C4F8) (two isomers), C70(C4F8)2 ...

Comparison of the low-energy decay mechanisms of C70+ and C70−

Vacuum, 2008
Abstract Low-energy multiple-collisional-excitation experiments have been performed on C70+ and C70− at the ClusterTrap apparatus. The ions are stored in a Penning trap where they are excited via radial dipolar excitation before undergoing collisions with neutral argon atoms.
