Theoretical Model of Pricing Behavior on the Polish Wholesale Fuel Market

open access: yesFolia Oeconomica Stetinensia, 2016
In this paper, we constructed a theoretical model of strategic pricing behavior of the players in a Polish wholesale fuel market. This model is consistent with the characteristics of the industry, the wholesale market, and the players. The model is based

Actions and the Self: I Give, Therefore I am?

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2021
Self-signaling models predict less selfish behavior in a probabilistic giving setting as individuals are expected to invest in a pro-social identity. However, there is also substantial evidence that people tend to exploit situational excuses for selfish ...

Zipf's law in Multifragmentation [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev. C72 (2005) 057602, 2005
We discuss the meaning of Zipf's law in nuclear multifragmentation. We remark that Zipf's law is a consequence of a power law fragment size distribution with exponent $\tau \simeq 2$. We also recall why the presence of such distribution is not a reliable signal of a liquid-gas phase transition.

Stability Computations for Isomers of La@Cn (n = 72, 74, 76)

open access: yesMolecules, 2012
Density-functional theory calculations are presented for low-energy La@C72, La@C74 and La@C76 isomers with IPR (isolated pentagon rule) and non-IPR cages.

No evidence of inequality aversion in the investment game. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
We report experimental evidence on second-movers' behavior in the investment game (also known as the trust game) when there exists endowment heterogeneity.

Higgs Boson Production and Weak Boson Structure [PDF]

open access: yesZ.Phys. C72 (1996) 87-90, 1995
The influence of the QCD structure of the weak bosons on the Higgs boson production in $e$-$p$ scattering is studied. The energy and Higgs boson mass dependence of the cross-section, following from the new contributions, is calculated.

Critical Angle in the Parton Cascade [PDF]

open access: yesZ.Phys. C72 (1996) 263-269, 1995
The angular correlation function of partons in a jet, as derived from perturbative QCD, is nonanalytic at a critical angle which separates a multiparticle regime with scaling properties from a regime with few particles near the hadronisation scale. Some phenomenological consequences are discussed.

25-Hydroxy vitamin-D, obesity, and associated variables as predictors of breast cancer risk and tamoxifen benefit in NSABP-P1. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Observational studies suggest that host factors are associated with breast cancer risk. The influence of obesity, vitamin-D status, insulin resistance, inflammation, and elevated adipocytokines in women at high risk of breast cancer is unknown. The NSABP-

Synthesis of functionalized macrocyclic derivatives of trioxabicyclo[3.3.0]nonadiene

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2012
C72-Macrocyclic systems functionalized with nitroaryl and arylamino groups were synthesized from the bisdioxine diacid dichloride 1,3,5,7-tetra-tert-butyl-2,6,9-trioxabicyclo[3.3.1]nona-3,7-diene-4,8-dicarbonyl dichloride (3).

Cross-Serological Reaction of Glandless Cottonseed Proteins to Peanut and Tree Nut Allergic IgE

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
Food allergy is a potentially life-threatening health concern caused by immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies that mistakenly recognize normally harmless food proteins as threats.
